yeah Maia v Thompson is the ultimate styles clashp4p1 wrote:I feel mostly the same I think out of the 2 Woodley can make more adjustments to get the W. It's still an interesting fight though I'll be watching and cheering for Wonderboy.Impractical Poster wrote:Tyrone has a few more options than Wonderboy. He would do well to pressure Stephen a bit more this time around and make it ugly. Woodley has the speed to avoid shots while getting inside. Thompson doesn't like pressure, and I believe Woodley will deliver that pressure, get inside, take him down and work his gnp. I'm taking Woodley by stoppage.thunderfromdownunder wrote:Wonder boy v Woodley 2 confirmed at 209. I think both guys might fight a little different this time around. Woodley might look for the knockout more, knowing he can hurt Thompson.
I just would love to see Maia get the shot next and take the title!

Khabib vs Ferguson official for 209. Interim belt on the line.
Re: MMA thread?
I just saw that the UFCs page posted a Gracie breakdown on their page. Also had a zuffa logo at the end so I'm thinking that they must've started paying the Gracie's to do these breakdowns for them.

What's the deal with Rory MacDonald? Why hasn't he fought since going to Bellator?Impractical Poster wrote:Bellator 170 is worth a gander. Should be an entertaining little card next Friday.

Rory had two pretty brutal fights back to back. I think the plan was always to roll him out in the mid to late spring of 2017. He's training now but doesn't have anything official signed as far as I know.ElJefe wrote:What's the deal with Rory MacDonald? Michael Chandler expressed interest in a fight with Rory a couple months back. Other than that, Rory posted a video of him doing some gym work a few days ago on twitter and says he will be fighting this year. So, not sure.ElJefe wrote:What's the deal with Rory MacDonald? Sherdog has a legal live stream of ACB 51 tonight with Thiago Silva in the main event. Not a great card but Mike Kyle-Tim Hauge could be fun, Leandro Silva is on their too. Gamzatov is a pretty good 205 prospect I see on there and Christos Giagos has been pretty exciting the few times I've seen him.

I think mentally he definitely needed a break as soon as his nose got touched in his last fight he fell to pieces.Impractical Poster wrote:Michael Chandler expressed interest in a fight with Rory a couple months back. I agree. I think the move to Bellator was a good thing for him. Re: MMA thread?
I just got done rewatching the Garbrandt/Cruz fight. My take away from that fight, and from other fights I have seen Cody in: Despite the size disparity, I am fairly certain Cody would clown Conor and stop him around the 3rd round. He is an incredibly well rounded fighter and looks to do everything great. If anyone could have exposed a weakness in Cody, it would have been Dom.

Cody is extremely well rounded and is probably the best in the sport at the moment. I was fairly confident Cruz would beat him in a close decision and I was very certain Dillashaw would beat Cruz and get the belt back. Nobody is taking the belt from Cody for a while.Impractical Poster wrote:I just got done rewatching the Garbrandt/Cruz fight. If Conor and Cody were to ever agree upon a weight to fight at, who would you pick to win?punchoutsb wrote:Cody is extremely well rounded and is probably the best in the sport at the moment. Re: MMA thread?
Garbrandt would be at a 9 inch reach disadvantage and would probably be too small to offer a real TD threat. I do believe that McGregor is vey beatable but I'm not so sure that someone with such physical disadvantages can do it. I'm sure if they were both the same size his background in boxing would probably stop him handing McGregor his only way to win on a platter like his best wins(Aldo and Alvarez) did but at a 9 inch reach and 20lb(even if they agreed on a weight McGregor is GOAT cutter) weight disadvantage against a guy who likes to fight long anyway, it'd be surprising if he could get close enough to land on McGregor without getting caught on the way in in the first 2 rounds.
I know I'm not a fan of his but McGregor is a much better striker than Cruz and hides his punches far better.
McGregors got his work cut out for him in his next fight be it Khabib or Feguson. One being the best grappler who uses his grappling (everything I've seen from Aldo when he decided to grapple is fornicating top level), the other being a very well rounded fighter who eliminates McGregors biggest advantage - his length. As long as neither does an Aldo or Eddie he should be in for a very tough night.

Re: MMA thread?
Anyone else that think that the interim title is a subtle(to the casuals) power move on the UFCs part to McGregor?

Maybe,p4p1 wrote:Anyone else that think that the interim title is a subtle(to the casuals) power move on the UFCs part to McGregor?
I'm kind of glad it is, purely for the reason that it makes it a 5 round fight.
I wouldn't be counting tony out in this one .....

Cody looks very well rounded. I couldn't pick him over conner simply due to size, reach and strength advantages to Connor. Cody has the better skills for sure.

Re: MMA thread?
Conor is massive compared to Cody, his body structure is just so much larger. That being said, Conor looks like a zombie weighing in at 145. I'd pick Cody if the fight happened at 145 or less today. Anything higher than that and I'd take Conor who would have a huge size and strength advantage and really good hands in his own right.Impractical Poster wrote:If Conor and Cody were to ever agree upon a weight to fight at, who would you pick to win?punchoutsb wrote:Cody is extremely well rounded and is probably the best in the sport at the moment. Think they will be co - main events by the looks of it.

I'm certainly more interested in the Khabib vs Feguson fight as I thought for the most part Woodley vs Wonderboy I thought tactically it was interesting but there just wasn't much action.scottyboy_1978 wrote:Think they will be co - main events by the looks of it.
