Which is why I wrote ON THE RING WALK, as opposed to the ring introductions. You know the stupid part with imitation smoke and loud music through a crap PA system. :OhYes:
Sure -- wasn't trying to prove you wrong -- actually searched for the ring walk,
but couldn't find it.

The great Mike Tyson's best display of power against a top notch opponent was against former champion Pinklon Thomas. Thomas was using that jab well, but succumbed to Iron Mike's power.

His most courageous win was against Razor Ruddock the second time around. It was a brutal affair of 12 hard fought rounds.

If Buster Douglas would have stayed down in that 8th round in Tokyo, it would have been Tyson's most defining and courageous victory. But, it didn't happened. Buster got up and gave him more of a beating.

The Holmes KO was devastating at the time but Larry was considered clearly past his best day's that night but Holmes did turn back the clock quite afew more time's before he was finished and no-one ever did that to Big Jack[Holmes] before or after :salut:

Stewart wasn't super good, but he was a very strong and tough.. In his only loss he gave a good account of himself versus Holyfield - landing some very nice punches on Holy.. A year later he would beat the living crap out of George Foreman before getting robbed of the decision.. But now he was facing a menacing Tyson, intent on homicide inside the 1st round.

Mike was pissed.. It was his 2nd fight back from being knocked out by Buster Douglas... He was fit to be tied and trained to the minute after slacking off a bit during his Douglas camp.. He got rid of Henry Tillman almost immediately in his 1st fight back -- and he had smoke coming out of his ears for Stewart, looking for the quick knockout again.. His speed and power were evident as he ripped tremendous cuts at Stewart, looking to take his head off.

Tyson scored a knockdown quickly, and that would have finished some Heavyweights.. Tyson continued to come after Stewart hard.. Alex was having difficultly getting any shots off or trying to keep Tyson off him. He would throw and find a glove in his face.. A hard right send Stewart down again but he regained his feet without too much difficulty.. The round wasn't even half over and the 3-knockdown rule was in effect.. Stewart tried his damnedest to get out of the round and was doing better for a while.. His corner yelled at him "45 seconds Alex" Tyson jumped on him with a short left hook and a thoroughly disgusted Stewart went down again.. The idiot referee started counting and Stewart looked at him incredulously, like "Stop counting Sport. The fight's over."
Tyson missed a right hand and fell flat on his face in that fight.

His balance was GONE.

That fight marked proof that he was a mess.

That is fight one, not the rematch.

Bruno literally wet himself on the ring walk for the rematch & must have crossed himself at least 15 times.

Tyson's most impressive win was probably against Thomas.

Unlike some other challengers who fought Tyson i.e Spinks and Bonecrusher Smith, Thomas came to fight and stood his ground against Tyson and he was doing quite well despite nearly being knocked out in the first round.
Tyson got into the swing of the things and nearly decapitated poor Thomas in the 6th. At that time Thomas has never been stopped or even put down in a fight.

Tyson said in his autobiography that if Cus was still alive and managing Tyson, he probably would have thought taking on Thomas was a step too far at that stage of his career.

After Thomas, Tubbs and Berbick were his other good wins.

Pinklon Thomas wasn't that good when he faced Tyson... He stared the cocaine habit after the Witherspoon fight... Witherspoon was Thomas's best win ever... Starting with the Tyson fight Thomas lost 5 of 6 fights... The only guy he beat was really bad.

Tyson was also heading in a bad direction when he lost to Douglas... Right after the Douglas fight Mike was pissed as Hell and trained with a dedicated vengeance for the rest of that year.. He knew who was responsible for the loss to Douglas.. But it was extremely hard for Tyson to stay on the straight and narrow, living the kind of life he followed right through the Michael Spinks fight..

Maybe because the Spinks fight was SO much money for Mike and was SO easy... Too easy... That's when he started slacking off and screwing around big time.. He was 35-0 and seemingly had obliterated his top challengers.. He was truly the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World.. Whenever you slack off a bit -- it takes a little while before it begins to noticeably affect your performance.. You start to believe the rules don't apply to you because you're seemingly doing as well as ever.
