Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
Could be a good fight. Only seen the Uchiyama fight but Corrales looked interesting - sort of Rigondeaux-like feet with Mayorga-like hands, almost. In an ideal world Salido or Vargas would fight Walters and we'd get winner vs winner, but this is a start at least.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
Lomachenko has not beaten anyone who was better than divisional #10 at the time of the fight. So if this fight took place, it would be extremely commendable matchmaking by Lomachenko and the first time that he actually did something to potentially validate the hype that he's been receiving. I hope it actually happens.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
Good fight
Martinez was higher than top 10 in some rankings, and the comfortable Russell win shouldnt be ignored just because GR didn't beat Gonzo until 2 fights later.

One of the many great fights that could be made at 130lbs, seems like every other week we get an exciting rumour that then fades (Loma Vs Salido II, Miura Vs Roman, Miura Vs Salido, Vargas Vs Roman, Uchiyama Vs Corrales II) hopefully we get some announcements, dates and the such....so many amazing bouts to be made at the weight

I hope this happens in New York so I can go to a Lomachenko fight again.
The most Panamanian Americans in US are situated in NYC, so it totally makes sense to keep Lomachenko fighting in New York and building a fanbase there. There's a massive amount of Ukrainians in the New York Area.

Some may say he wasn't and only became top 10 (top 5?) after beating Gonzalez, but that was a whole, whopping, 9 months and 1 tune-up later.Freedom2013 wrote:Gary Russell Jr was in the top ten.Lackeos wrote:Lomachenko has not beaten anyone who was better than divisional #10 at the time of the fight. Would this fight be competitive? from the two fights I saw Corrales fight on youtube he doesn't appear to be in Vasyl league, but maybe I am not gauging things properly.

Funny guys. If Nikolas Walters (declassified by Loma) is number ten in this division, then you should switch in your blind and silly comments from boxing to chess. You have no smallest idea what boxing is.Lackeos wrote:Lomachenko has not beaten anyone who was better than divisional #10 at the time of the fight. You are absolutely right. This will be another humiliation fight , this time for Panamanian below-average boxervictor-romeo wrote:Would this fight be competitive? from the two fights I saw Corrales fight on youtube he doesn't appear to be in Vasyl league, but maybe I am not gauging things properly.

Corrales has nothing in common with Mayorga strength, and he is million light years far from Rigindeaux in terms of hands workHyacinthusTurnipseed wrote:Could be a good fight. No, he is not. Maybe Vargas. Decent matchups for Loma are rather in upper division with the likes of Mickey Garcia or at least Gamboa.Freedom2013 wrote:In November.

you might want to check the dates on posts you quote.canelo-runs-to-flyweight wrote:Funny guys. You got it. Absolutely right. Low-skilles Match with uchiyama showed that corrales is five leagues below Loma.Oiky wrote:Loma makes light work of him

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
I would love to see at least corrales with Loma, as other chicks run away from Loma. I keep my fingers crossed that Corrales would not start to look for excuses not to fight High-Tech Vasyl.Boxing Prospect wrote:One of the many great fights that could be made at 130lbs, seems like every other week we get an exciting rumour that then fades (Loma Vs Salido II, Miura Vs Roman, Miura Vs Salido, Vargas Vs Roman, Uchiyama Vs Corrales II) hopefully we get some announcements, dates and the such....so many amazing bouts to be made at the weight
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
Lomachenko beat Russell, Martinez and Walters in impressive way. Top oponents. Corrales is another top oponent. He has the belt, Lomachenko want that belt. I dont understand people who have problem with this.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
It would be another good opponent for Loma.
Assuming he won, he'd have victories over Walters, Russell, Corrales, and Martinez. Which fighters have done more in 9 bouts?

Is he still planning on facing this guy?
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
I have read that there have been some talks about it happening next. Corrales also gave an interview last week in which he states that he's up for the fight. With Pedraza and Vargas already having matches lined up, I'm hoping that Loma's April 15th opponent is either Corrales, Sosa, or Salido.Impractical Poster wrote:Is he still planning on facing this guy?

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
It's just as well I didn't suggest anything to do with Mayorga's strength or Rigo's hands then.canelo-runs-to-flyweight wrote:Corrales has nothing in common with Mayorga strength, and he is million light years far from Rigindeaux in terms of hands workHyacinthusTurnipseed wrote:Could be a good fight. "Sort of", "like" and "almost" all in one sentence should've tipped you off that it wasn't to be treated as a one-to-one, hard-line comparison anyway. I was just making a glib, shorthand comment that Corrales had an unusual style - in and out and very "light" footwork with a punching style that seemed on first impression quite wild and brawler-ish. Other fighters who tend to throw so wide might be quite snappy with their feet (or not) - like Mayorga, Valero, Salido, Haye etc etc - but I can't think of anyone else like that who has such light feet.
But all that was based on one viewing of less than six minutes of action more than 6 months ago. I'll have to get round to watching the rematch to see if any of that bears out over 12 rounds.
BTW were you scanning the whole website for negative comments about Lomachenko or is there a good reason this old, old thread has re-surfaced? It would be Loma second best win if he got it (right after his first) and one of the better fights to make in the division so I'd still be interested if it happens.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
I completely see what you mean about the Mayorga hands and Rigo feet; to me that's actually quite a good description.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jezreel Corrales
Wow, dude. Way to be anachronous in a thread that you personally necroed. It's not like you saw this thread in the first page and had reason to assume it was fresh.canelo-runs-to-flyweight wrote:Funny guys.
