You think wrong. He's in a harder weight class but you need to look at em skill wise pound for pound!Horse wrote:I think that Callum Smith has a slightly better record than Joshua.world ranked wrote:Who has Callum Smith beat than rates over heavyweight belt holder who has dominated his opponents. resume should trump opinion. Though I do agree the division tougher but a top 3 or 4 heavyweight BELTHOLDER should trump a great talent with NO RESUMEStuarty30 wrote:You think wrong. Marcos Maidana
Andriy Kotelnik
Zab Judah
Paulie Malignaggi
Devon Alexander
Luis Collazo
Lamont Peterson - (Lost)
Chris Algieri
Julio Diaz
Paul McCloskey
His record is very good.
Williams entered the rankings last year, after beating Corcoran, but then fell back out again.brilo33 wrote:fair enough cardle and lee , conlan fight of the year . what about Liam Williams
If Williams gets a decent win again then he will probably re-enter.

I think that Smith's record is slightly better, so he's ahead.world ranked wrote:resume should trump opinion. Though I do agree the division tougher but a top 3 or 4 heavyweight BELTHOLDER should trump a great talent with NO RESUME
Belts matter very little.
Re: British Top 30 P4P January 2017
Not a lot in it opposition wise to be fair. Both good young talented fighters but the way AJ has despatched his opponents edges him ahead IMO. You're clear bias for and against certain fighters is evident in your lists every month.Horse wrote:Joshua's opponents were more skilled?Stuarty30 wrote:You think wrong. Martin was a top ten guy who Callum Smith beat that was in the super middleweight top ten. Joshua is more important player in the heavyweight division than Smith is to 168.Horse wrote:I think that Smith's record is slightly better, so he's ahead.world ranked wrote:resume should trump opinion. I'm not as impressed with power as most people are.Stuarty30 wrote:Not a lot in it opposition wise to be fair. Both good young talented fighters but the way AJ has despatched his opponents edges him ahead IMO.
Being able to smash low level opposition a few rounds earlier than other prospects/contenders etc. doesn't impress me a great deal.
And yours wouldn't be?Stuarty30 wrote:You're clear bias for and against certain fighters is evident in your lists every month.
Everyone has opinions. Rankings are based on opinions. Without opinions there are no rankings.

What is Callum best win? Do you consider Whyte a top 10 heavyweight right now?Horse wrote:Martin wasn't a top 10 fighter.world ranked wrote:Martin was a top ten guy who Callum Smith beat that was in the super middleweight top ten.

You have Murray above Eubank Jnr. If they fought next do you honestly think Murray beats him? Fury who hasn't fought in over a year and has no licence in front of the British fighter of the year. Again clear bias.

There isn't much in it, but whichever fighter is considered to have the better record, paper titles don't really matter.

Nobody on Smith resume has done anything even on the European level let alone fight for a world title. Between all of them not one has a meaningful win EVER. At least Whyte beat Chisora and Martin beat Spzika for a title. Smith opponents you can say no accomplishments. Even if you say the resume close which is crap you still have Callum higher though doing nothing bias crap as you usually bring with your ranking.

It's not nonsense at all. Take your head out your arse. I'm also a Fury fan but how you've got him in front of Frampton after the year Frampton had is a piss take!
