This fight was sick.
Ievgen Khytrov vs Immanuwel Aleem
Khytrov all but out on his feet in the 1st survives, controls the 2nd round clearly, controls most of the 3rd prior to getting dropped and then coming back to stun Aleem badly at the end of the round, Khytrov then wins the 4th and 5th rounds comfortably before getting caught again and finished in the 6th!!!!
Awesome stuff!
Round 3 is a definite Round of the Year candidate as well
Khytrov vs Aleem! 2017's 1st FOTY candidate!

Fight of the decade contender. Would struggle to name many better fights I remember.gilgamesh wrote:This fight was sick.

Khytrov looked poor to say the least, no head movement at all, flat footed plodder, so easy to hit cleanly, how he was thinking of fighting GGG is beyond me, he'd get splattered inside 3.

Incredible fight, Khytrov has some chin but technically there's a lot to work on, Aleem's announced himself as a legit contender,he should get a top 10 fighter next hopefully

I liked the main event Jack Degale much better. A smarter and more skilful fight IMO. I liked it almost as much as Chisora Whyte which was a classic 80's brawl minus the roids.

He must have a really bad trainer. Great lateral movement he had in amateurs is gone and so are some other skills.handsofstone wrote:Incredible fight, Khytrov has some chin but technically there's a lot to work on, Aleem's announced himself as a legit contender,he should get a top 10 fighter next hopefully

Khytrov seems like a guy burnt out from too many amateur fights. He fought like a pro in the amateurs and took punishment along the way despite amassing a stellar record. Something like 500 amateur fights. A shame he got robbed at the London olympics at chance of gold as I think he's going to fade into Bolivian as a pro. On the flipside, it will be interesting to see how far Aleem can go and hopefully his effort here isn't wasted.

Wow...what a war of attrition. The split screen here is a bit of a distraction but includes all the highlights of this brutal war:
