What's Next For Degale?

Post by Taansend »

Looks like Jack won't fight again at 168. I doubt if Degale can fight again until Summer at the earliest (am I wrong?) so that's even more time for Jack to grow so if they do have a rematch it will have to be at 175.

So will the WBC belt become vacant? And will Degale now have to fight Mundo in his next bout?

Smith will fight Anthony Dirrell for the vacant WBC, then down the line PPV v DeGale.

When do people anticipate Degale will be able to return? I wouldn't have thought he'd be back too soon.

That took a lot out of DeGale - he'll never be quite the same again. If the money's right he'll fight Smith in April or May but he really needs a longer rest.

They could do it on Monday if you got the dough.

Would need a fair time for swelling to go down if it's to be a permanent fit though and not cause problems. But yeah sure things can be done rapidly with the right cash. Didn't Liam Gallagher get his done a few years back?

Chunky ain't no light heavy and Badou is moving up.

Stick Jack in with Cleverly, that would be some scrap. Wonder if Degalen will go after a big money fight with groves next? The fight last night was too hard and I doubt he'll stay in the game long after that.

Three fight plan fight should be

Mandator, unification with Smith/Durrell then fight Groves for all the marbles (3 belts)

Smith is WBC mandatory so winner of last night has to face him.

Now it's Jack or Jack vacates and Smith fights Dirrell

An immediate Jack rematch At 168 would be a touch ask for DeGale. I'd predict another close affair but i feel Jack has more room to improve on His performance.

A feel a Little for DeGale, he fought well, It was very very close to Call, yet he is not getting much of credit. I feel a draw was a fair result, they Both deserve equal praise. All this robbery talk is nonsense.
