80,000 tickets already sold for Joshua vs Klitschko - and now another 10,000 available

Post by Like a Boss »

Already over 80,000 tickets have been sold for Joshua vs Klitschko and the fight is over 3 months away.

Wembley Stadium's boxing record has already been smashed, and Eddie Hearn has confirmed plans to extend the venue's capacity are set to see attendance hit the 90,000 mark.

Such a figure would see the fight the biggest in British Boxing history.

Total sales have already beaten the previous Wembley record, set by Carl Froch’s rematch with George Groves at Wembley in 2014.

I wonder if this will push these two ahead of ward in the next moneymakers list?

Lol that list was sure bizarre

On another note, I wonder how many of these tickets were bought by resellers lije Stubhu (a Matchroom partner) rather than people who actually plan to go to the fight.

I agree. But a full house of around 90,000 will compensate for whatever atmosphere might get lost due to it being an open stadium.

A lot unfortunately, but those tickets will also sell. It'll be 90,000 sell out. Given the small scale of the UK, compared to America, the popularity of boxing and a particularly good seller in Eddie Hearn, tickets for these shows just disappear.

I'd say it's the best, with the best fans. Though they could do with the judging of fights from Japan. By far the fairest.

The boxing judges (and refs) are like cancer. I feel that jail could solve this problem.

The judges in Japan are the fairest. Though a ref there recently tried to drag a knocked out fighter back to his feet, he needs to go.

Compare the atmosphere in American venues to the UK.. I thought the Jack v Degale fight was taking place in a library!

It was murata's last fight. He ruled it a slip and was so mystified that the fighter wasn't moving he started trying to help him to his feet. Unreal

I totally agree without being biased. Fights in the US and Germany are like watching Arsenal at the Emirates. The roof always comes off it the UK.

80,000 already? Brilliant news.
I seen an interview with IFL that he said they might struggle to get 90, because they need Club Wembley & the British Boxing Board of Control to agree the health & safety aspects of it.
