Another news making me think that boxing is not quite dead yet.

Boxing will never be completely dead, but it sure smells funny

Good to see fights back on ESPN after the pbc debacle.

I'm surprised you're looking forward to it given your well known distaste of Teddy Atlas

Nostalgia more than anything, and it's good for the fans. I'll watch if the match ups warrant it. Maybe Oscar will have a different crew!

Didn’t ESPN announce towards the end of October last year that the PBC still has twelve fight cards on that network, running from April 14th though to August?

GBP have already said that they’re only interested in televising prospects, probably matched against journeymen/past-their-prime veterans on ESPN.

So I don't know why you're expectations are so high considering GBP's relatively weak roster of fighters, at least compared to the PBC's.

I think ESPN’s decision to televise more boxing is excellent for the sport, but it doesn’t really harm the PBC in anyway.

Hopefully they're good cards, at least as good as FNF used to be. Golden Boy really needs to expand beyond being just the Canelo Company.

This doesn't sound like an exclusive deal, so PBC can still put on their time-buy cards.

Will we see them being broadcast over here in the UK as ESPN has a tie in BT?

It's not exclusive, but pbc cards were horrid and infrequent. ESPn was known for fights every week for many decades.

Hopefully they consistently produce better cards

GBP do far too many showcase events (e.g. 5 unbeaten prospects vs clubfighters) for my liking
