We'll See The Best Keith Thurman In March...Vintage Thurman

Post by bnovelist »

Did anyone just see the way Angel Garcia disrespected Thurman? Calling him bi*tches, nigga, hoes, etc... Don't get me wrong it has worked on past

fighters getting them out of their game but Thurman is a different animal he's on the level skill wise, and mentally tough like Mayweather and

Ward. Can't wait to see this blow up in the Garcia camp with a possible stoppage.

The funny thing its Danny too! He smiles and instigates it way ahead of time  Angel is doing this to an elite top 5 boxer not a Zab Judah or

Amir Khan.

Me too. I hope after he beats Danny he walks to Garcia's corner and pops Angel a punch in the kisser. Someone needs to give that turd a beat down.

I just hope he beats Danny into irrelevance. Normally for big matchups like this I want to see competitive action, but I'd be glad to see Thurman destroy Garcia in one sided fashion. I doubt it happens though. Much as I dislike him Garcia has a tendency to rise to the occasion and perform well when he has to.

Yeah but he's in with a guy who buckled the legs TWICE of a granite chinned Porter. Porter has a chin like Ray Mercer if you guys remember him!

Paulie The Magick Man already predicted Thurman that's a death wish Paulie is ALWAYS right when it comes to prediction. He said Thurman is the

naturally bigger man.

Broner dropped Porter and had him hurt bad. His chin isn't granite

And Paulie is wrong all the time. I'm betting on Danny. It's too tight of a fight for everyone to pick Thurman.

Excuse my ignorance, I'm not clued up on what's generally accepted for Hispanic people to say in America - but should Angel Garcia really be throwing the N-word at Thurman? Is that sort of thing considered alright because he's Puerto Rican? Made me feel uncomfortable, I was surprised Keith didn't react.

Either way, Angel Garcia is an absolute bellend and I'm massively rooting for Thurman in this fight.

Brook had him doing a little dance at the end of one of the early rounds as well.

Whew... Daddy Garcia just gets away with every type of race hating, don't he...

If Thurman goes in there with his head straight, he should be able to get the job done.

Even though I'm picking Thurman it's very much a 50/50 fight in my mind. A Garcia victory wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I'm shocked how many people have such an interest in Danny's Dad. I can't recall ever hearing him speak. Granted, if I had the internet decades ago when I was so in love with the sport that I sat pins and needles hoping for a mention of Hearns/Cuevas on the 2 minutes of sports news I probably would have checked out vids too. Just not sure why you wouldn't just ignore the moron and concentrate on the fighter?

These are exactly the kind of boxing matches we need for the good of the sport. By the way, is this promoted by Arum, Goldenboy, or any of the other top promotional companies? (or is it Haymon's PBC?)

As far as I'm aware both fighters are signed to PBC.

its kinda cringe to see any grown man act the way angel does, but yea, it's common for Rican's in Philly to say that word.

Anyway, Thurman is a genius for the way he set up this fight.

All he did was say that the Garcia's are another father/son combo that he would beat, and Angel's overly emotional ass fell for the bait along with Danny.

All in all though, it is definitly close to a 50/50 fight :box:

While I can see Keith Thurman pulling it off, I fail to see how he's that much better and should be favored over Danny. I like Keith and want him to win but what has he done that makes people believe he will beat or even stop Garcia?

I think Thurman beat Porter by a wider margin that most say. There were times when Porter looked foolish, and shook Porter with some real heavy shots. I thought Thurman dominated Guerrero, almost stopped him, while Garcia wasn't so impressive with his win. I look at it as a 55-45 fight in favor of Thurman. He punches harder, seems to have quicker hands. Both have very good skills, so it will be fun to watch.
