FTF ? An evenly matched unification, action fight, and such low numbers. Was the fight not promoted at all?

WTF Showtime put them against an NFL playoff? The least valuable thing to sacrifice?

It was after the playoff game I believe. It was poorly promoted though.boxing_rocks wrote:WTF Showtime put them against an NFL playoff? The least valuable thing to sacrifice?

Typical Showtime numbers. Just because we love boxing doesn't mean everyone does. Americans couldn't care less.

Isn't that pretty good for showtime?

Not horrible, but they've had a million before. Their schedule was pretty non-existent last year. They may have lost some boxing subscribers. Have to see how next week does.jockpunk wrote:Isn't that pretty good for showtime?

Sad because they're less likely to push for a rematch with those numbers.
Who knows, a good offer for an immediate rematch might have persuaded Jack to stay at 168 one more fight.
Though that does open a can of worms, trying to make weight one last time after a gruelling fight. Several fighters on Showtime have failed the weight in these circumstances, tarnishing big fights somewhat. Tapia v Ayala II, Rosendo Alvarez v Ricardo Lopez II, Castillo v Corrales II, etc.
Definitely can't see Degale taking the rematch, no championships on the line, up at light heavyweight.

We didn't get the fight up here, DeGale has been on before.
