Bellew vs Haye -who wins?

Post by big lennox »

They both sound uber confident. Bellew obviously thinks that Haye's reflexes and stamina have slipped enough to catch him and hurt him and take him out. Haye clearly thinks that Bellew does not have the reflexes to get out of the way of his powerful shots.

Dave Coldwell, Bellew's trainer, will know Haye's style well, having worked closely with him for years. Will this be a decisive factor or will this particular ingredient be academic as Haye will simply blow Bellew away?

What do people think? I'm actually way more excited about this fight than Joshua - Klitschko, which I think Joshua will win inside two rounds. :bag:

Bellew is banking on Haye being a light of his former self. Pure hope.

He's going to get smashed to bits.

I actually like Tony Bellew. Despite all the shtt that comes out of his mouth, having met him a few times, I think he's a genuinely good guy and a decent fighter. Haye on the other hand... I just can't warm to him.

Both have something to prove. Haye wants people to see that he isn't just a has-been and can still compete at world level and Bellew wants to prove that he is as good as he believes he is and he belongs at the top level.

My prediction is Haye within 4.

If Tony is reading this, don't take offence, I really rate you as a fighter - you're a good fighter and tough but history dictates that this is a hard ask.

Bob Foster was a great light heavyweight who fought Joe Frazier and got stretched inside two rounds - the difference in the weights wasn't that much. Frazier was a bigger man but not by much - he was 209 pounds - I don't know what Tony Bellew will come in at but I can't see him coming in at anything over 15 stone and Haye will be in shape at around 16 stone.

Bellew has guts for taking this fight - sorry man, I know you are reading this but - just try your best and go out on your shield. :salut:

Seems I'm not going going out on a limb too far picking Haye by big KO in 3 rounds.

In his normal style, Haye will have a look for the first round and then finish it in the second or third. Can't believe anyone thinks this will be remotely competitive.

I have zero interest in this fight to be honest. I rate both guys in their own way but the first time Haye lands half clean Bellew will go right into his shell. The undercard looks poor as well.

Hayes hand picked very carefully since he's moved to heavy, especially since his comeback. The very fact this was even considered for PPV is to his credit as a marketing man.

For me it'll be very similar to Haye v Harrison, not just the main event but the whole night. Hearn has to be very careful, Bellew v Cleverly was well below PPV standard, he could shoot himself in the foot with stuff like this

WWE forum for this thread!

I scanned boxing monthly yesterday and they'd a 11 page preview of this farce as if it was some meaningful match up- the two sky aligned respondents- Froch and Johnny Nelson predictably toed the party line and pretended that they think Belles will stop Haye- aye nae bother Johnny....

I refused to buy the magazine for the first time in years rather than encourage it. I Remember it used to be a serious boxing magazine.

The whole card looks absolutely dire for a PPV. I'd but Eubanks ego boost this weekend over this filth
