commonwealth games
Judging from the world championships,Canada will have a strong team as will the hosts and perhaps India, but England look very good.Bearing in mind Africa will throw up a couple of surprises, here is my early take 48k Nasir of Wales looks good as do Singh and Langley but my vote goes to Nasir at /51 Hore(aus) should be favourite ,Broadhurst looks a danger/At 54 Cave(can) and at 57 Smith (eng) look fair bets /At 60 watch out for Gavin(eng) and Kamal (can) /64 is wide open/at69 Perkins(eng) and Trupish(can) look good/75 three way battle Degale(eng) Fletcher (aus) and Stevenson (canada) should contest /81 home advantage should see Mceachran win over Englands Jeffries /91 Dolan,if picked, should defend /At91 David Price (eng) looks a fair bet------but there is a long way to go to March

Bellew is angry,as a triple national champion he has a point, why enter if it means nothing in the long term.Danny must be left as favourite.I am not to up with Scottish boxing but I would have thought Hastie and Simmons would have a chance.

The four nations showed us little other than Nasir and Sutherland will go far.Sutherland of course is ineligible but Nasir will win.

Did you see Aaron thomas in the welter div / light welter div ? ; believe he beat the english las in the semis (perkins ??) or maybe the eng lad in 64kg? or was perkins not involved? then lost to Irish lad, however, apparently had badly hurt rib for final which was quite evident in his defence>?????
Didnt go, just what was reported in local rag.
Also was haastie involved and will he be going to games, if so a big fav in the 64kg no?

Aaron thomas was very good against denton vassell but in the final the irish lad was differnt class
wales mo nasir was very gd i was looking foward 2 seeing chris jenkins but he got a real boxing lesson from conner ahern i saw wales twice last year up in scotland they are very well skooled i saw a young welsh boxer joe cage he was amazing when he boxed in scotland last year a think hes a cadet not sure but jenkins is up against it i think who do you think will win medals from wales ???? mitch prince 60kgs mark hastie 64kgs craig mcewan 75 kgs kenny anderson 81kgs and a think will win gold stevie simmons 91kgs the rest will be there or there abouts
mo nasir looks gd for a medal
perkind was injured
used to train in the same gym as aaron, in a way i hope he gets a medal. seen him have troubles with boxers though, aaron is the fittest member of the welsh team, one of the fittest in 4 nations without doubt, he's relentless and rough his house tactics are good against boxers who cant back him up with the jab, should a fighter back him up from range with a jab he has problems.
nassir should get one... cant wait to be honest, really looking forward to it.
you'd think hastie and perkins are nailed on for a medal but i dot know much about canadians, who supposedly are strong.

The lowest starts at $11 for the opening bouts, going up to $125 for the best seats at the final!bollox wrote:I read somewhere ages ago that the tickets for the c'wealth boxing may be as low as $15. May have to see if I can get a few and take a first hand look at the up and coming talent
