Jersey Joe Walcott vs. Columbus Gant

Several secondary sources list a June 27, 1941 Memphis bout in which Jersey Joe Walcott knocked out Columbus Gant in 3 rounds. This fight doesn't appear on Jersey Joe Walcott's BoxRec.com record. Instead this bout is the only one listed for a different "Joe Walcott."

I know about the original Barbados Joe Walcott, another Joe Wolcott welterweight from Panama and maybe a few more (Baby Joe Wolcott, etc.). But . . .

Doesn't the Gant fight belong in Jersey Joe Walcott's record?

You can't see it as a non-editor, but Luckett Davis moved the bout to the different Walcott, and left an editors note, stating that this was actually a lesser known Walcott.
