Fellow boxing aficionados, I regretfully inform you that my father "Chucho" Garcia passed away yesterday morning. He was born in Reynosa Tamaulipas, and spent much of his boxing career out of San Diego California. My father was a gentle and loving person, I miss him already. Please look at the frequency of his bouts, this man was a rock.. you may also view one of his fights on youtube; Renato Garcia vs Jesus "chucho" Garcia. should any of you have pictures of my father, please post them.

Jose, my apologies as I just saw this post. I only had the pleasure of seeing your Dad fight once and that was in '71 or '72 against Armando Muniz on delayed broadcast. What stuck in my head about your Dad was that he didn't have a huge punch - more sharp than anything else - a nice boxer, very shifty and an unbelievable jaw. In the incredible amount of fights he had he wasn't stopped too often. I think it was more to the end of his career that he suffered stoppages (without looking at his record on boxrec). You have a right to be proud. My condolences.
