Saunders next opponent?
Saunders next opponent?
On IFLTV he indicated that he has to travel but not to USA. He also said it is someone that is top and that we will be well happy. These are non Americans in WBOs top 15.
Lemieux is fighting in March. Georgian and Ukrainians fight in USA. So that leaves Murata or Heiland.
Of course it is also could be someone not in WBO list.

Murata...who has just been confirmed as the WOWOW commentator for Miura vs Roman...wonder if he cheekily mentions some thing...
Re: Saunders next opponent?
By saying he's going to be paid well and has got to travel but not to the states makes me feel its Murata. Would be surprised if anyone else.

So I got it all wrong then lol. Let me see if I can change the list.Reece_D wrote:By saying he's going to be paid well and has got to travel but not to the states makes me feel its Murata. Would be surprised if anyone else.

I may of misheard but I'm sure BJS said it should have been in states will have to travel to his opponents home country.Tarkus wrote:So I got it all wrong then lol. Yes you are right, he is a bit grammatically challenged and confused me. Kugan even asked if it was Quinlan. :)Reece_D wrote:I may of misheard but I'm sure BJS said it should have been in states will have to travel to his opponents home country.Tarkus wrote:So I got it all wrong then lol. Re: Saunders next opponent?
hints I got were, he's the best in the world, he's already got work on and the fight should be in the states but I have to go to his home country.Reece_D wrote:I may of misheard but I'm sure BJS said it should have been in states will have to travel to his opponents home country.Tarkus wrote:So I got it all wrong then lol. Maybe GGG will arrogantly announce his next opponent with the Jacobs fight still in play.
He fights Jacobs on March 18th. He could fight 2 months later around the same time as Canelo/Chavez jr...

Re: Saunders next opponent?
Canelo in Mexico. Chavez pulls out
Re: Saunders next opponent?
You are right he said he was busy. So that could even be Lemieux and Canada. Golovkin in Kazakhstan would be more surprising.wesshaw1985 wrote: hints I got were, he's the best in the world, he's already got work on and the fight should be in the states but I have to go to his home country.

Re: Saunders next opponent?
Pick the lowest level fighter in the WBO top 15 and hey presto we have an opponent for Saunders
Lemieux is scheduled to fight Stevens
Lemieux is scheduled to fight Stevens
Re: Saunders next opponent?
Is there anybody in the WBO rankings who has recently moved up 50 places for no apparent reason? - if so, then him!

Re: Saunders next opponent?
Murata is a dangerous fight to take with GGG, Canelo and a Eubank Jr rematch on the horizon. BJS keeping his WBO belt is paramount to a future huge payday.
I reckon Murata beats him in Japan.

Re: Saunders next opponent?
I think Stevens and Lemiuex beat him as well. Will Golovkin or Jacobs be his mandatory if he wins his next fight?PredatorHayds wrote:Murata is a dangerous fight to take with GGG, Canelo and a Eubank Jr rematch on the horizon. BJS keeping his WBO belt is paramount to a future huge payday.

Re: Saunders next opponent?
I don't think it's Murata. Saunders described him as "the best of the best" and said that he "already has work on". That would suggest either Golovkin or Canelo, the biggest names/best fighters at 160, who both have fights scheduled. He also said he'd have to fight him in his home country - Canelo in Mexico is more likely than Golovkin in Kazakhstan, although I wouldn't put it past Saunders to not know where Golovkin is actually from. Either way, Canelo in Mexico is my optimistic guess.
Re: Saunders next opponent?
Canelo will not announce another fight so early. His next fight is in May.ElJefe wrote:I don't think it's Murata. Re: Saunders next opponent?
Good point, had it in my head that he was fighting in March but that's GGG. Golovkin could fight again in May/June, but where would the fight be if not here or the US? Unless Saunders is completely bullshitting when saying the best of the best.Tarkus wrote:Canelo will not announce another fight so early. EDIT: New guess, Golovkin in Monaco in May. Boom.

Cotto?
Re: Saunders next opponent?
Did he mean best of the rest
Re: Saunders next opponent?
He fighting Kirkland isn't he? Will he fight on after that?BillyTKid wrote:Cotto?
Re: Saunders next opponent?
Lara or Charlo? He said the best of the best so I presume it's some from 154 as GGG and Canelo already have fights scheduled
Re: Saunders next opponent?
Chavez is not making 163 for my money!!

"Best of the best" = Gold medal winner ;)
"Already has work on" = Working on TV this weekend (working for WOWOW covering the Miura/Roman fight)
Home country = Saunders talking garbage, it'll be in Macau on the Zou Shiming card >_>
