Apparently a lot of people are calling fix on the fight. Why would they fix the fight for the guy about to retire?

He looked like a 40 year old middleweight that can't take peds anymore. Tito did look even bigger than usual.

They wouldn't, people love to call fix. They got nothing better to do.

I've been seeing that all over the place today, including some pretty good sites that are usually above that. It's like they've never seen Chael fight before. It makes zero sense to fix that fight in any way shape or form.

Looking forward to ngannou vs arlovski

Ngannou is a beast, I like arlovski but I favour ngannou here

I love Arlovski. Probably one of my all time favs, but his chin has basically turned into The Nothing from The Neverending Story.

yeah I agree mate, not good is it , ngannou's power and the determination he has is not good for arlovskis chin

You're probably right. Ngannou is built like a brick shithouse.

Ngannou has looked great so far, but Arlovski is a HUGE step up in competition for him. I figured he'd fight someone like Tim Johnson or Tybura next, but they threw him straight in with Arlovski, who is beatable but is still probably one of the top 10 guys in the division.

Speaking of which, the HW division has gotten very stale, with the same old guys hanging around the top 10 for years at a time. Hopefully they can bring in Minakov soon, and maybe Denis Goltsov as well.

Agree with everything you say here. Arlovski is still one of the very top offensive fighters in the UFC HW division. His problem is his chin.

The HW division is very stale, and seems to be regressing. There isn't much talent outside of the top 4-5, and they are aging. It seems the UFC is not interested in bringing in new talent at HW. To be honest someone like Mariusz Pudzianowski would beat several of the UFC's top ten at the moment and he is not a top ten calibre fighter.

Agree the UFC needs to sign new HW talent, but can't say I agree about Pudz. He's done well for a strongman who didn't get into MMA until his 30s, but he's still pretty bad and would lose to the vast majority of UFC HWs, let alone the top 10.

I wouldn't even be so kind as to call him "pretty bad", I was more just highlighting how weak the HW division is after the top 4 or 5. I've always been a Ben Rothwell fan, but when him, ancient Mark Hunt (big fan), Black Beast, and Happa are in the top ten and guys like Oleinik (again, big fan) and Tim Johnson are knocking at the door it really shows how thin they are right now.

This is the only UFC HW I could find that I think Pudz would beat:

The majority of UFC heavyweights at the moment are out of shape stand up bangers with poor technique. That opens the door for a lot of possibilities.

If only Arlovski had a better chin. He can be winning a fight, a gust of win comes through and lands on his chin, and he's about done. Sucks. I'm willing to bet Arlovski is a better skilled fighter than Ngannou, but Ngannou will most likely land a shot at some point during the fight and Andre will go down.

Same goes for Reem as well. Dudes a monster but just has no chin.

I think Miocic could be champion for a while, I thought the last dos Santos decision was correct, bit JDS has since been stopped by overeem and I think his pinch resistance is fading. So Miocic should finish him this time. pity, as junior is one of my favorite current fighters

Reem is also lacking some fighting heart, which the Pitbull has in spade.

I agree. Junior has had some brutal fights and is on his way out. Cain can't stay healthy for a full week. Werdum is always a wild card but Stipe is a bad matchup for him.

I think Cain will be champ again if he can stay healthy. Easier said than done, I know. Werdum is still pretty good but he's damn near 40 and apparently on the outs now with management, so I think his career may be reaching its conclusion.

Bennan Ward's eye got jacked up worse than I thought from Daley's flying knee last weekend.

If Cain can ever get back to the way he was when he was stomping JDS, he beats Stipe. But as you are feeling, he may never be 100% again. Hope I'm wrong. I would love to see him avenge his loss to Werdum.

I saw the picture of Ward earlier today...nasty gash. Very deep and in a spot that takes a while to heal.

I just read Stipe saying he got stiffed in the Overeem fight...earned $600,000 to Reems $800,000. That's plain wrong. The UFC are going down the Don King/Bob Arum route and if they keep it up over time, they will lose their fighters. Horrible business sense. Hope Miocic gets some compo.
