Parker is very underrated
He fought two very good and tough boxers .
Takam gave cheater Povetkin very close fight before he gassed out.
Andy Ruiz has one of the fastests hands in hw division
Both those guys would beat Whyte and easily. Whyte lost against past prime Chisora and looked terrible in his recent fights.
Just rewatch Joshua vs Whyte and remind yourself how terrible has Joshua looked against Whyte who is 3x less boxer than Takam or Ruiz.
And i am big fan of AJ and i know that he will blast Clinschko into space .

Well I for one am happy you got that off your chest
Re: Parker is very underrated
Wladimir's particular style, strength, jab, straight right hand, left hook, and vast experience will be tough for Joshua... But I expect Josh to win.
Re: Parker is very underrated
Parker on the other hand is nowhere... The man doesn't have real good boxing skills... Takam and Ruiz busted his bubble. For me, they beat him and Parker had a Joshua fight for the taking... He didn't take it.

If only he could bring his other, slower hand up to speed!Unbiased Expert wrote: Andy Ruiz has one of the fastests hands in hw division

He's good or even very good but Joshua and WIlder have the bigger political backing and earning potential - a New Zealand hwt is highly unlikely to transcend the sport by being the Face of Boxing - he will probably be choreographed into a perpetual B side / sideshow contender - Boxing is a business now not a sport - Hope Parker disproves this and kicks ass as he could be the real deal indeed -

Very very true . What should matter is being able to fight, and how skilled you aremontrealsuper wrote:He's good or even very good but Joshua and WIlder have the bigger political backing and earning potential - a New Zealand hwt is highly unlikely to transcend the sport by being the Face of Boxing - he will probably be choreographed into a perpetual B side / sideshow contender - Boxing is a business now not a sport - Hope Parker disproves this and kicks ass as he could be the real deal indeed -
A lot of the time fighters are sold and hyped like WWE wrestlers . Pay fighters fairly 100%, but shame boxing is so much like a business now , rather than putting on solid fights

Hughie Fury ducked Wilder in order to fight Parker. I expect Fury to win as I think he's the better fighter. I feel Hughie will be better than his bro.
Re: Parker is very underrated
The true test of Parker will be the opponents he defends against.

Re: Parker is very underrated
The sport is run by the promoters - they take the risks - they favor the fighters they feel have the best earning potential for the long run - Parker will have to be super extraordinary in order to survive the politics and corruption which will surely favor Wilder and Joshua - Lennox Lewis overcame it all because LL was super extraordinary - the politics and corruption were all in favor of Tyson Bowe Holyfield yet the outsider with the quiet low key personality from Canada still managed to overcome it all - Parker has his work cut out - Let's all hope it's a fair fight though we know it won't beOiky wrote:Very very true . Like Lennox The Klitschkos were outsiders in the beginning also - The Klitschkos were on the outside with Peter Kohl and were getting frozen out by Don King and his pretenders (Ruizzz Byrd Valuev etc) yet persevered and eventually overcame all the politricks and corruption and a few bad losses - The Klitschkos were super extraordinary also -

To be fair you can't really duck someone rated above you. You can choose your title path these days, but that doesn't equate to ducking in my opinion.Impractical Poster wrote:Hughie Fury ducked Wilder in order to fight Parker. I think Parker is overrated.
He'll likely beat Hughie Fury though.

Possibly... But, by your definition, Canelo is not ducking 3G.punchoutsb wrote:To be fair you can't really duck someone rated above you. Canelo was a champion for a brief time at 160 which would put him on equal terms within the class. Canelo is also world level, one of the biggest "stars" in the sport. Hughie Fury isn't really comparable, though my original statement may have been a bit too vague.Impractical Poster wrote:Possibly... True.. I understand what you mean. TBH, I was just being difficult.punchoutsb wrote:Canelo was a champion for a brief time at 160 which would put him on equal terms within the class. Re: Parker is very underrated
If anything he's overrated based on his performance against Ruiz. We'll see if he shows any improvement, he's certainly still got room.

It is kind of funny that 80% of the forum called Ruiz a bum or not talented. But since he fought even with Parker now Ruiz is a consensus top 10 heavy. And Parker is only behind Joshua and Wilder.gilgamesh wrote:If anything he's overrated based on his performance against Ruiz. We'll see if he shows any improvement, he's certainly still got room.
Very strange reasoning by some on here
Re: Parker is very underrated
I still see Ruiz as a bum. His performance against Parker just showed me that Parker ain't as good as I thought, not that Ruiz was better than I thought. Ruiz still looked like like the same 'ol mediocre fighter he always had. Parker just wasn't good enough to do anything about it.tiny_acres wrote:It is kind of funny that 80% of the forum called Ruiz a bum or not talented. Re: Parker is very underrated
I didn't like the way he fought in the Ruiz fight; it was very underwhelming.
Re: Parker is very underrated
I am a big fan of Parker but admit his more recent fights weren't very convincing, with the exception of Dimintrinko where I thought he came in agressive and showed his talent. Ruiz and Takam fights he seemed too cautious and failed to claim noteworthy victories.
