The REAL Aberdeen Assassin.
I hadn't heard of him before. Sounds a lovely fella eh!

I'll need to send the Mrs a link for this dude. She alarmingly loves serial killers :o
I have this weird thing where I find a town on Google maps then discover as much as I can about it.

That bloke from Nirvana was born in Aberdeen

His arse fell out completely in his final fight. I can't see that crowd ever coming out in force again for him. Proper folded and you could see the promoter and the supporters were fuming.

not saying your wrong when it comes to his performance, but he really does have a good support up there and could shift a decent amount of tickets .

His family promoted it lol, I would imagine the look you talk of his possibly concern and Shafikov tuned out not to bad a fighter. Wish lee and his family all the best, some of the nicer people iv met in boxing. Although lee is a bit of a head case ha

Agree, he found his level in that fight and the John Murray fight and definitely looked to give up when the going got tough against Shafikov. I don't know what the point of the comeback really is, is he going to do any better 4 years down the line and now 34 years old?

I had to look that up there  Looks nice. We had cheese and biscuits a few weeks ago now and we used her mams homemade chilli jam! Was excellent. She grows her own chillies and uses them. Really nice with a smoked cheese :TU:

Pistol-P wrote:Hes actually taken out a BIBA license, odd considering im hearing rumours from people inside that BIBA/MBC are very close to folding.

From what i can gather, their fearless leader did actually follow through on his legal threats, BUT LOST, and is now skint.

The way they are so defiant i imagine they'll keep going til the very end, but it seems several licensees have already jumped to BBBofC and others are either in the process of doing or are considering doing so.

And im not talking about a handful, i mean they are losing boxers 5 times as quickly as they are gaining them.

All hearsay of course, but from a good source.
I have been asked to address this comment - The UK legal actions have not been 'lost' in fact they are are awaiting hearing dates - for reference there are two in the UK, one of these is a class action on behalf of BIBA/MBC boxers and Promoters, the other a major one submitted to the Competitions and Markets Authority (CMA) and there is also another major case against the Cartel that is the BBBofC, EBU and other closely associated "companies" that was recently submitted to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the USA.

For reference there are also two further cases we are directly involved with in a "supporting" role, as these were taken out by individuals, one of these is in the courts and the other with both the CMA and the European Commission Markets Authority

On the other matter, re boxers going to the BBBofC - From day one we have fully understood that British boxers want BBBofC licenses, as there are more opportunities with them than ourselves at thistime - most of those that have now got their BBBofC licenses have only been able to do so as they now have a certified record thanks to us, which they didn't have previously, or in the case of one only as far as I am aware because his license (after being imprisoned) is up so is now eligible once more under BBBofC's regulations.

I'm just pleased that they got the opportunity to get their BBBofC licenses, that they rightly deserve, which they never would have it wasn't for us.

I think he fought Shafikov for the Euro title then pulled out during the fight because of injury? Shafikov had his number anyway if I remember correctly?

I'm sure he was a two weight Commonwealth champ.

He got the jail a while ago I think. Might struggle to get his licence back. Was a decent enough fighter but not as good as he thought he was! He was doing well against John Murray and got too cocky.
I bet his cellmate isn't sorry to see him go, he could talk for Scotland!!!! Nice guy tho.
Whose cellmate? McAllister’s :o .....I never knew he’d done chokey?.....or “porridge” I guess they call it up there! Have I got the wrong end of the stick here?

Absolute complete and utter tosh! That fight was won and lost in the womb. Bloody outrageous to suggest that. I had McAllister to win that......and winning it he was! But 12 rounds is a LONG time and he couldn’t keep John off. Absolute rubbish to suggest he “got cocky”......if anything he was already cocky! But that’s not the reason he lost.

He done time for a takeaway assault. Must've had previous though to get sent down.

I seem to recall the John Murray fight on ITV4 and Murray was being built up as this utter destroyer at Lightweight. I recall him giving Scott Lawton an utter pasting after the McAllister fight after getting the weight wrong.
