We know Kell is better than this, given the Porter victory away from home. But now his achievement has been equalled by his welterweight peers, Thurman having done the same recently. With Kell's injuries and his rubbish IBF mandstories so much time has been wasted. It's a real shame injury prevented him from fighting a decent voluntary, Chaves. Getting fed up of "All of the Lights" Kell - what the f uck is that supposed to mean, in a boxing context anyway. That fight with Golovkin was tragically misjudged, coming in the bigger man, letting Golovkin work him over two minutes then fighting at the end of the round in a few flashy bursts, and the corner was ready to pull him out any time, and the body language of Kell, holding the ropes, touching his eye, screamed get me out of here. That fight was pure greed, a terrible, terrible spectacle, a true waste of a stage, and IMO of Golovkins time, not being even allowed to finish his prey off. That fight wouldn't have happened if Khan would've just fought Kell, or if Eubank Jr had people around him who can negotiate. Last year was mostly positive for British boxing but Khan, Kell and Eubanks Jr all dropped a bollock that year.

If so, then Kell is the fighter I hoped he was, when I was defending him, last year.

And props to Spence, if he really is willing to come over here, in the manner of the outstanding Terence Crawford, who came here and beat Ricky Burns.

If he can fight the poor mandos then he has to fight the good ones.

Manny Pacquiao is the biggest active name in boxing right now on a global scale.

Brook V Pac Man does massive numbers in the UK. PPV would do massive numbers.
No he isn't Canelo is then GGG.. Pacquiao has been struggling he needs a big name fight.. Brook is not it they will go with The most money.
Bit of a pointless debate, but I would say Pac Man is better known globally, certainly more so than GGG, Philippines is 100 million people for a start.

Might be right that Brook needs the win over Khan to springboard him to being a household name in the UK.

You'd be surprised how common it is for the trainer to pull a fighter out when they know they're lad is in too deep. And the boxer knows this too before the fight. I thought Brook gave it a good go, and to be fair, he did have his cheekbone broken, but Dom wasn't going to see him get levelled.

IT wasn't a waste of ggg's time at all. Even Tom Loeffler said the show was on a different level to what he's used to. And he earned a few quid.

Didn't do him great in terms of rounds. Or in terms of spectacle. GGG fans come for the finishing blow. It was over before Golovkin had fully warmed to the task.

The stage may have been there but the full show wasn't performed. Fight had "bail out" written all over it and was anticlimactic, after all that hype as well.

Teddy Atlas actually thinks Brook went in with the injury, given the quick corner diagnosis of broken eye socket / orbital bone and were ready at all times to withdraw him.

Staggers me how many people came away from this fight hugely impressed.

I suppose you agree with Atlas that Brook, his father and his team were willing to risk him losing his sight.

Staggers me how many people carry their bitterness for years.

Watch the fight. Have you seen GGG getting hit like that? They weren't half hearted shots.

I'm not sure what Brook has really achieved so far. I understand he's a modern day boxer all about highest reward for lowest risk - call it the Mayweather affect, except fighters don't want to earn it. Brook should fight Spence or move to 154 and challenge the top guys there. But ok, chase the money and go for a fight with Khan and take 40%. He hasn't earned and doesn't deserve 50%.

Brook is a world welterweight champion.
Khan was the world light-welterweight champion. He last won a title fight at light-welter almost 6 years ago. How much does a challenger deserve?

Challenger for what? This is not a championship fight. And if being a champion meant anything to Kell, he would fight Spence, which he may well do. Then if this fight was for Kell's IBF belt, it's a different scenario entirely.

...50-50 split then!

Ps Kell is undefeated outside of the middleweight divsion and is currently a world champion.

If i was Brock, id feck Khan off. He is a greedy deluded little man. He is a chinless wonder and a fight against any of the champions at 147 lbs would be suicide for him. He should stay semi-retired. At least Brook would be competitive against the other champions and has a meaningful career outside of Khan.

Why are team Khan so obsessed with Brook fighting Spence? Its almost like they are desperate for Brook to lose so that a fight with Brook gets shelved.

If team Khan really want the fight why are they not working with team Brook to put pressure on the IBF to try and secure Brook dispensation so that he can fight Khan or encourage Spence to step aside? Team Khan only want the fight for stupid money, trying to make matters over complicated.

any unbiased observer knows Khan is worth a bigger split than Brook, its simply fact.
Khan is the A-side in this fight and Brook more than likely wins. From Kells side Its a trade off, money for bragging rights...

Khan says 70/30.
Brook says 50/50.
The answer lies somewhere in the middle.

If Khans projected time line works to plan (tune up next, Pacquiao in November) then this fight will happen early (if he wins) or late (if he loses and has a tune up) in 2018 I reckon...

I don't understand when Hearn was asked about the 60:40 that he was so sheepish about it. What does he want to happen? Surely as a promoter it's in his best interest to make this fight happen, and force something through, be it a 60:40 or what!

I think he knows its not a 50/50 fight but if Kell and Kells team are demanding 50/50 he has to agree with them for the cameras...
