I think he's cashing out, because I can't see him getting any other bigger opportunities financially.

Yeah, it's not looking too good at the moment. I'm not convinced that we'll ever see them fight.

60/40 gets this over the line and everyone's a winner.
It's not nice being the B side in a domestic fight but Brooks got to accept it for the payday.

For Brook that would mean Erroll Spencer as his mandatory challenger.
Surely he keeps calling out Khan because he's trying to avoid spencer? If he beat spencer brooks stock would rise considerably in the US and he would have his pick of opponents.

Brook's resume is incomparable to Khan's. Brook has fought few people of note- Khan for all his bullshit has fought good quality fighters throughout his career.

Khan has fought in America and is far more well known over there and has a bigger profile here as well.

Ask yourself this- who needs the fight more?
The one who needs it more is the one who has to give up on the lion's share of the purse.

He was calling Khan out long before Spencer came on the scene.

Hearn had Wembley booked for Khan-Brook in summer 2015 and 2016. In 2015 Khan decided to box Algieri for a fraction of the purse 8 days before.

Spence has only just become mandatory. He was offered the Brook fight last summer but his team said he wasn't ready.

After watching the Kugan interview , its apparant there is someone else in the mix , who has to be paid ,, They kept insisting it was'nt about the % but more about what the fighters got paid after a third party had his money ,,, general feeling i got was Khan is contracted elswhere and would have to pay to get out ,, could be wrong but thats how i read it

Yeah ... Reading between the lines he has to pay Al Hayman a Hugh fee... Probss every time he fights on a none PBC card

I imagine Khan wants 60/30 split ... 10% Hayman

IF i was promoter, it would be a guarantee to each and winner takes 70/30 of the rest of the pot (as someone else mentioned already).

Does Khan/Brook sell 90,000 at Wembley? I'm not so sure.

Neither Khan nor Brook has the fanbase to make this a Wembley fight.
Bolton Wanderers or Sheffield Utds Stadiums would be a slight possibility.
I'm guessing the M.E.N would be the likely location for this fight...

Really? Hearn booked Wembley twice without a fight even being arranged? Really?

Khan is the household name and the bigger ticket seller. Khan should get more.

But he isnt world champion and hasnt been since 2012. He has been irrelevant at welterwight for the past 4 years. Is that really not a factor in the determination of the rate of pay?

Lets be honest here, Khan isnt really a big ticket seller, certainly not since he has been ruthlessly exposed as a chinless wonder on several occasions. When was his last big show in the UK when he was the A side and how many tickets were sold? 3 UK shows in the past 6 years doesnt suggest he is a big ticket seller in the UK.

This fight sells itself because it is includes BOTH Khan and Brook.

Khan is holding out for a King's ransom to try and price Brook out of the fight. He knows its a fight he will not win. If the fight is signed it will only be on the basis that Khan is getting very heavily and unreasonably compensated for the inevitable knockout loss that he will suffer.

Despite Khan's ramblings he is not an elite fighter and never was. Id love Brook to smash Spence and then see what excuse Khan tries to come up with.

Of course he didn't. He had checked of it was otherwise booked, and probably had an arrangement with the GM to call him if someone else might be booking.

It becomes a principle thing at some point. I mean Khan wasn't just after a 70:30 split. He wanted to be 2nd in to the ring , his choice of gloves, ring size etc. If I am Brook I might be able to live with one or two of these demands but when it's so one sided towards Khan and he won't budge then I can understand Brook drawing a line in the sand and saying no.

If the fact that Khan wants to be 2nd in to the ring irks me so much, imagine how Brook and his team feel. Where does Khan get off demanding he comes in 2nd. Go and win a world title to deserve that.

Sounds to me like Khan just keeps pushing for more and more until Brook says no so he can blame Brook for not agreeing to the fight.

Neither fighter are going to earn more in their next fight without each other but there has to be some sort of sensibility to negotiations. Sounds like Brook is willing to give a little but Khan wants it all.

So we have to watch Hearn giving IFL interviews in the past where he preaches that fighters need to stop looking at the splits, what the other guy is getting and instead look at what they are getting and if it is enough, simply it is enough so just sign.

Brook has been offered a career high guarantee but they instead want to bang on about the split being unfair.

Pet hate in life is people who preach one thing, then completely ignore it when the shoe is on the other foot. If you believed it originally, it still holds true now.

So you think that because Khan has to pay Haymon his purse should nearly double Brook's?
