Re: Devon Alexander?
I haven't heard a peep. Though that isn't entirely uncommon with the pbc.
Re: Devon Alexander?
Its got to do something to your confidence when you get your ass handed to you by Amir Khan. Time to call it a career maybe.

Amir gets a bad rap. He's a lot better than most make him out to be on here. As I insinuated earlier, I am not a fan of Devon's, but he beat some solid opponents. Including Maidana, whom he beat much more clearly than Floyd did.Badhusker wrote:Its got to do something to your confidence when you get your ass handed to you by Amir Khan. Re: Devon Alexander?
say what you want about devon alexander he did manage to beat marcos maidana
Re: Devon Alexander?
Alexander did beat Maidana, but it was a time in Maidana's career where he was struggling to make 140, and ready to quit boxing. Basically he didn't care. After changing trainers he was a different fighter.
Khan gets a bad rap because he brings it on himself. He is a good amateur fighter, and will lead pretty much anyone after 3 or 4 rounds, then falls apart. He looks great against guys with no power.

Khan has had a very good career. I remember when this board was buzzing to see Judah knock him out. No chance in hell.
Re: Devon Alexander?
Khan has had a decent career, but lets not get carried away. He looked great against guys where he had a speed, height, and reach advantage, and the opponent had no big power punch. He was, and is, a 4 round fighter. His fight with Judah was classic Khan. Dominate early. What many tend to forget was the fact that early in the fight Khan head butted Judah taking him out of his game, then ended the fight with an illegal punch, holding Judah's head down with his forearm and delivering a low blow.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Khan has had a very good career. Khan has used head butting in several fights but was never called on it like Bradley was. He had at least 3 or 4 fights where his headbutts were a factor in him winning.
I think they should have allowed Judah to continue to see how the fight played out. I think the chance of Judah KO'ing Khan in the last half of the fight would have been great. Khan is nothing better than a glorified amateur boxer with a weak chin. He will never be considered great because he has no chin to go with his other good skills. Basically besides that his is just too damned dumb to ever be considered a great boxer.
I am one that thought Judah may have KO'd Khan if they let the fight go on like they should have.

Very good is far from carried away. Just because you dislike him doesn't make him crap.

Olympic medal. Champion with multiple defenses.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Very good is far from carried away. Just because you dislike him doesn't make him crap.
Fought Canelo, Alexander, Garcia, Peterson, and Maidana.
Of course, that is a very good career.
I think the problem is people making Khan out to be more than a British Zab Judah.
He is a front runner with a poor chin AND POOR TECHNIQUE.
Like Judah, he had the ability to compete at a very high level.
But he just doesn't have that extra ability to be as great as he and his fans think he is.
Then he constantly says the most ludicrous things that his fans support for some reason.
Good fighter. "Entertaining" fighter. But the hype around him isn't nearly warranted (especially at this point).
Yet, he is still ranked high, and some people don't think he's a KO victim for all the heavy hitters from 140 up.
Also, he's been on some real ducking sh!t lately. The Canelo fight was a cash fight.
But in general, since Garcia, he's been quite cowardly.
The responds with some BS like ... http://www.BS.com/khan-let-bro ... er--113089
Re: Devon Alexander?
I admit hating Khan, so yeah maybe he isn't crap but is no where near as good as he thinks. I hope he fights the winner of Spence/Brook, but doubt we will get to see that. What happened to him wanting Garcia/Thurman winner? Garcia, Thurman, Spence, and probably Brook all KO Khan imo.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Very good is far from carried away. The best fight for him would be Bradley. Light hitter, big name, and winnable.
