The biggest issue with this whole case has been the notion that authorities were aware of a potential drug test fail prior to a fight. Worst case scenario and Klitschko ended up with permanent damage in the aftermath of a fight with a drug-fuelled Fury. What the hell happens then?

Will be good to get some clarity out of the whole thing but I imagine the case may be that there were major failings in the testing process which allowed a drugged individual into a fight.
They need sacking if he was guilty, useless.
I don't think they have a case tbh, otherwise it would have all been done at the time.

Or if he's not. Either way they've acted terribly, and the people doing it are clearly inept.

dalcumly wrote:When all of this was going on Tyson Fury was a licensed boxer with the BBB of C. Given the concern in all sports about the misuse of drugs, particularly in a combat sport, I think the Board need to conduct a detailed investigation and once that's complete all those license holders involved need to be called to the Board and asked for their account of what took place.
I wouldn't pre-judge the outcome, but all those involved in professional boxing need to know the facts, and to see what action, if any, the Board is prepared to take. It might well be that the Board decide that UKAD is not an organisation the wish to be involved with in the future, or Tyson Fury and others need some sort of punishment.
This whole situation show UKAD are not fit for purpose. The million dollar question is why did an apparent positive drugs test take 16 months to be made public.

Look at Vada recently with Povetkin that was made public a few days later.

So according to the mirror. The 3 day UKAD hearing for Tyson Fury (and propbably Hughie though he wasn't mentioned in the article ) finished today.

Wonder when the case file goes on the site.

Tyson Fury hasn't tweeted a single thing this week.

Peter and Hughie have barely been on there's this week. Though the team fury one shows Hughie in the gym yesterday.

With it being a three day hearing it might be for

Nandrolone ( from Feb 2015 which started this whole saga)

Cocaine ( before the rearranged Wlad rematch a VADA test hence why it was made public straight away)

Refusing to take a test ( only news papers at the time mentioned this nothing from ukad said this actually happened though )

Hughie would only be there for the first reason.

There are loads of questions related to this case that need answering

Yet even more questions

After the mirror said the hearing was 6th Feb

Now it is April according the the mail. If Hughie signed the contract earlier it would have happened within 12 months of his last fight. Now because the fight looks set for May 6th one years and one week after his previous fight.

How the hell hasn't this all been settled by now?

It is effing outrageous the only logically reason it is taking this long is they are guilty and going through the appeal process.

It is realistic that Hughie could serve a 12 month ban and literally within one week of it ending fight for a world title with a career high purse

UKAD are a joke but at least the mail reporting it has brought it wider attention media in NZ have picked up on it now.

And Tyson Fury goes out of boxing in his own accord instead of being driven out by a drug ban which could be lengthy.

1) Nandrolone by UKAD 2) Cocaine by VADA and 3) ( only reports in papers ) refusing to do a drugs test.,

Only 1) applies to Hughie as well.

Yeah, Tyson spends his life getting to the pinnacle of his sport.

Then, when he is champion (and due champions purses - proper dough, the likes so that his kids and grandkids etc. would never have to worry about money) he decides to jib and spend his time at festivals and Anglesey kebab shops! - makes sense .....

In isolation of course not (although the several failed samples would suggest otherwise).

He has spent years earning grands / hundreds of grands and he is now at a stage where he can fight beatable opponents 3 times a year for £millions a fight.

He is at the stage where he can have one single fight, not bother to train, lose and walk away with millions. Does not add up does it

I get the theory....but do many fighters go for that? I can’t see Fury going out on his kebab like a fat has-been, can you?

Not at all, was just an "in theory" comment although Buster Douglas did it

How much did he pick up for the Klitschko fight? Must have been round 25% of the purse? Surely that's gotta start running dry soon? Sounds like he's burning through it with some of his antics.

What? Eating kebabs? A blow out on sniff? I know loads who've done more on the dole. Throw in the money he had anyway and the odd £7,000 a night dinners he does and he'll be fine.

Well I'm thinking about the jetting around the world. He keeps popping up at these events in the States, and as far as I understand it is living in Spain at the moment?

Does anyone know what he earned in the Klitschko fight?

Today for the first time in 15 months

Yes 15 months

UKAD have put a statement out on BOTH Tyson and Hughie Fury

https://www.ukad.org.uk/news/article/st ... yson-fury/

Still says nothing regarding a hearing date but the important thing is it mentions Hughie. This confirmed has NOT been cleared of anything and also NOT had a ban for the past 18 months as some have suggested.

Yet Hughie can fight for a world title in his first fight after this all came out and Tyson can't get licensed. It's a joke.

They may as well have consistency and let Tyson fight now especially if UKAD can't be arsed sorting out a hearing.

UKAD doesn't seem like a legitimate body at this point.

They should probably be disposed of now, surely.

This is what UKAD say is delaying the hearing

All parties are currently awaiting a ruling from the NADP tribunal on an application made by the athletes to exclude certain evidence. Once that ruling is received, the matter will proceed to a hearing on the merits. UK Anti-Doping is currently pushing for dates to be fixed for that

Unless anybody has intimate knowledge of the case and is prepared to blab we're going to be none the wiser for some time yet.

Would be interesting to know what evidence the Fury legal team are fighting so hard to be disregarded.
