Tony Bellew reveals David Haye's 'distasteful' comments during The Gloves Are Off

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

In an interview with the Metro, the WBC cruiserweight champ revealed he asked Haye to apologise - which he hasn’t - and that Haye’s behaviour during their shooting of The Gloves Are Off was “really distasteful”.

HAYE'S "DISTASTEFUL" COMMENTS

“What I expected really, he talks a lot of nonsense,” Bellew said when asked how Haye acted on set with Sky Sports.

“He says things that are really out of place, things like he’s going to leave me on a stretcher and that I’m going to hospital after the fight.

“Things that are really distasteful, I found it quite disgusting.

“Like I said to him, ‘the most important thing is to go home safe to my kids’.

“The words out of his mouth were: ‘You’re going to hospital, you’re not going home’.
“At that point I said, ‘Okay, the only way I’m going to hospital is if you kick that chair up and do it now’.

“Sky Sports stopped filming at that point.”

Pretty disturbing from Haye, if true.

THEY HAD TO BE SEPARATED

Although no punches were thrown during filming, the pair did have to be separated.

“I wouldn’t say we clashed, there was no fighting or punches thrown,” Bellew added

“What did happen though, is that we were made to separate for ten minutes in the middle of filming.

“He’s just a dog of a man, to say something like (sending me to the hospital) is just disgusting.

“No boxer should ever come out and say that. There’s boxers lying in comas right now.”

Bellew has literally attacked Haye with comments over the last year. The fight is finally made, he has shown a much softer side and his little jabs here and there.

Did Bellew not make similar distasteful comments to Clev and a few others?

Can't remember mate. I was asking. I remember him going over the score more than once (as he does) and vaguely remember him talking a lot of gash about smashing folks skulls in etc.... Again, I'm not 100% sure.

Don't forget that Boomer recently dug up a picture of Haye holding a copy of the Sun newspaper from 5 years ago (he was pointing to a photo of himself and Chisora) and tried to make out it was some kind of personal Hillsborough attack on Scousers.

Boomer is an ingrate!

Can't get excited for this mess! I'm more intrigued with the Eggington v Malignaggi fight.

It seems to me that Bellend has tried to bully and intimidate Haye.... it hasn't worked and he even got a dig out of it. Probably shocked him - now he's trying to make out Haye is the nasty one and bully. Bellend has been quickly check mated at his own game and is now losing his bottle

Yeah fair point. His tantrum straight after the Flores win was embarrassing and he was obviously trying to shock and/or intimidate Haye. When my kids pull that they get a swift kick to the rear and put to bed!

Did he really believe he could intimidate Haye! That's madness he's a blown up LH, Haye fought Klit and Valuev, he probably thinks this will be like swatting a fly, which it more than likely will be.

Bellew tried to get out of the ring to attack Haye. Wtf is he talking about? He has called him out and dissed him non stop. Haye never even mentioned him before Bellew started calling him childIsh names and then tried to attack him. Bellew is on another planet.

He asked Clev is he still going to his AA meetings and also getting help with his depression after the Kov loss. Bellew is such a prick.

True. They're generally really sensitive about criticism to themselves but have no problem slating anyone else.

Bellend is a classic bully, and Haye has taken his confidence and will stretch him. When you look at the body language, Haye is so relaxed, it's like he's going to be swatting a fly.

Kro wrote:Bellew was the one sticking the head in and pushing Haye at the first presser, Haye cracked him with that sweet little left hook, Bellew was clearly stunned (physically and mentally) and his confidence evaporated totally at that point.

He knows he's doomed, he's desperate, looking for sympathy and trying to make Haye the 'villain' so he can play the 'victim/plucky loser' after his inevitable defeat.

As for 'distasteful comments' what about all Bellews cracks about Hayes personal life/divorce/finances etc?

Totally uncalled for and unprofessional.
Bellend is a classic, hypocritical bully and crapping it. All the classic signs of a bully backtracking and changing the story. It's a lot of money and Bellend shouldn't do it, but I think he knows he's in over his head, has bitten off more than he can chew and may pull out. The fight ends when Haye wants to end it. I reckon rnd 3
