He's a joke if he avoids spence unless it's for Khan. Fair enough he fought GGG but it was a no lose situation massive purse and was always going to lose.

His resume is pathetic for how long he's been about. Aside from porter he's never faced anyone at the top of their game in a competitive fight.

It has the potential to be a good division, brook should be calling out alvarez at that weight imo. Khan v cotto isn't beyond the realms of possibility, you could have Khan v brook at that weight. Trout, Kirkland, Lara, Smith in the U.K. , the charlo brothers are exciting.

If I were brook I would look to move up (or down if you count his last outing) and try and dominate that division. Get someone like bundrage for your first fight, do a number on him go for the other recognisable names. The Uk ppv money for Brook is now more than enough to tempt these fighters over. Maybe not cotto and canelo but the rest of that list would be over here without a doubt.

Get some big money fights going and suddenly guys like Danny Garcia will be looking to move up.

Its obvious why Hearn wants him to move up ... fight Khan ,, ppv ,,, move up fight a couple of duds ppv , challenge Canelo ppv .

Stay at 147 ,,, Fight Spence ppv ,,, get beat ,,, Fight Khan ,, does'nt happen .. fight mickey mouse , no ppv fight the seven dwarfs one after the other no ppv .

What he should do is accept 70-30 , which does'nt all go to Khan he has payments to make , but still probably the biggest , purse of his carreer ,, then move up and fight Canelo , could happen if he has a good ko win over Khan ,, put shitloads in the bank , then go get his title back , or just hang around and fight whoever pays the most . .. Its proffesional boxing he already has a loss , what he needs now is the big money fights starting with Kahn - Canelo or maybee even paccy ,,, The Thurmans Garcias , are still going to be there , but a ko win over Khan and a good performance against Canelo , puts him in the A league ,, not the champ but up there with the money .

So anyone who signs a deal with Al Haymon should get a bigger split of the purse?

Bang on.

As someone else said, fighting mandatories was so important when it was Dan and Bizer

That is not the only or the main difference. The main difference is that he moved up the weight, added extra fighting weight to his body. This will make it impossible to satisfy 147 limit without loosing physical condition. He already was straggling to make weight then, now it is physiologically impossible. If he forces he will be drained and weak and yes against someone as good as Spence he wont have a chance. It will be unprofessional and stupid. Which means he will probably do just that.

If it's as bad as that, he's not in limbo, is he? It's just a straightforward decision to move up to 154. If Brook genuinely can't make 147 safely anymore, only his harshest critics would complain about him moving up without facing Spence.

But the message seems to be that Brook can't make 147 anymore unless he can get a fight against Khan, in which case it's fine?

My advice would be take the 70/30 and smash Khan. That 30% is significantly more than for any other fight out there for Kell, and with a victory over Khan, he has some mega fights to follow. Even a Khan rematch with that split the other way round.

If he doesn't fight Khan, he has to either fight Spence, or properly vacate and move up IMO, or he loses a lot of credibility. His record is not exactly a who's who of P4P greats, and he's wasted a hell of a lot of his career chasing fights that never happened.

Sh*t or get off the pot, basically.

Give up on 147. Have a three home fights at 154, with a gradual progression of difficulty but nothing that would cause too much trouble. Go to America to challenge for a belt. Whichever of the belts is possible. Ideally win it, then hope that the win streak mean whichever promoter he's with at the time put some money behind him and start to bring challengers and unifications to the UK.

I would like to see the Khan fight but if it doesn't come off now, this would be my advice, absolutely forget about it and don't waste 1 more second of your career thinking about it. He runs the risk of looking stupid if he chases a Khan fight any longer. It has become a vanity project for Amir now

Kell's 31 this year and is knocking on the door of having had forty fights. I'm not really sure the time is there for much more slow build gradual progression.

He could do three fights this year to bed into the division if he fancied getting on a few under cards. I'd let him have the fat Latvian first just to get a win. Then maybe take on a Top 20 opponent and a Top 15/10 before the year's out before heading for titles in 2018 when he'll be what, 32/33? Still time on his side then. He just really can't afford to then piss away 2018 as he has done previously.

He should've fought Chavez and Vargas, beaten them decisively in stylish fashion and attracted a big ish fight involving an American based fighter with a decent TV profile.

He didn't do it.But he has a good mando now so let's see it. Beat a good American and it does wonders for a sagging profile.

Khan made an offer that Brook was never going to take, at a time Brook is required to defend his title. If Brook vacated, I'm sure Khan wouldn't fight him anyway. The Khan stuff is a waste of time.

Id advise him to fight spence and prove he is the best welter out there, beating spence will put him in the elite as thurman has dodged spence for a couple of years now.

But i dont think brook will beat spence.

If you don't have the profile and you want it, then you have to go out and earn it.

Kell goes round coffee shops in Sheffield trying to impress girls who have never heard of him. Sad.

Don't care any more
Pretty much my sentiment as well Autobarn; it has got majorly tedious and less and less relevant :TU:

Kell should just move on and Fast Eddie needs to recognise that even the most dedicated/forgiving fight fan is getting his patience properly tested; do the thing or please, just shut the feck up about it :box:

I am a big fan of Kell - he's a talent and a good watch - but he needs to let Khan go and not have his career defined by whether he gets a fight with Amir or not. Crack-on Kell; other people can deliver paydays.

Of course not , but if he wants this fight it has to be done , Hayman will want his slice of the pie if the fight goes ahead , and he'll still get more money than most fights out there .. Mind you if he can't make the weight to fight Spence , he can't make it to fight Khan, be interesting to see what he does

Khan wants a warm-up fight next. I don't think he has any intention of fighting Brook but uses his name to detract from his family/skype issues.

Another typical year for Brook then?
