Miguel Cotto was scheduled to face James Kirkland on February 25th at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas, but according to industry sources the upcoming HBO Pay-Per-View event is going to be postponed.
No official announcement has been made by the organizers of this event but the word is that Kirkland may have suffered a cut. Cotto has not seen action since losing the WBC middleweight title to Saul Alvarez on November 21st, 2015. While the last time Kirkland fought was May 9th of that year, where he was blasted out in three rounds by 'Canelo'.

With how easily Kirkland gets hit, I'm not surprised... And I'm not surprised he's the opponent -- and not Jermall, Andrade, or Lara.

It wouldn't surprise me if Cotto and Brook fight now. It would be a legit way Brook could dodge Spence, and make more money. I hope not, as I think Brook vs Spence will be a very competitive fight.

Brook would be wise to not fight Spence and it has nothing to do with Spence. It has more to do with a man would just fought at middleweight with a fight night weight of 170+ solid muscle trying to squeeze back down to welter for his 2nd biggest fight.
