David Price vs. Christian Hammer: WBO Euro Belt at Stake

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

David Price will get the chance to win a title this weekend.

Price (21-3, 18 KOs) faces Christian Hammer, as part of the undercard to Chris Eubank Jr.’s challenge of Renold Quinlan for the IBO super-middleweight title, over 12 rounds on February 4. And Boxing Scene has learned that the WBO European belt owned by Hammer (20-4, 11 KOs) will be at stake in their showdown which doubles up as an official world title eliminator.

Means he gets ranked and can then call Parker out with an ounce of credibility as opposed to no credibility at all.

Hate to say it because Price is such a nice bloke, but he's totally irrelevant in the heavyweight division now.

He's already ranked. and ABOVE Hammer..

HEAVYWEIGHT (Over 201 lbs) ( Over 91.17 kgs)
Title Name
CHAMPION JOSEPH PARKER
1 David Haye
2 Hughie Fury (Int-Cont)
3 Wladimir Klitschko
4 Jarrell Miller (NABO)
5 Andy Ruiz
6 David Price
7 Tom Schwarz (WBO Youth
.....
11 Izuagbe Ugonoh
12 Christian Hammer (WBO Europe)

But winning that title, might get him 3rd spot, seeing as Wlad is challenging for WBA/IBF

I'm not too sure who the bloke at no7 is but I'd fancy everyone above Price in that list to beat him comfortably in fact I'd bet my wages on it!

I also like Price, he seems a nice bloke and i had high hopes for him as did quite a few of us but, how on earth does he have a no6 rating with any world body?

Why isnt Anthony joshua ranked in the top 10? Surely he's better than David Price.

Yeah I've never heard of him either. Youth champion? The heavyweight division is so moribund that a 13-year-old is in the WBO's top 10!!

Because Orgs don't rank other world champions.

Well they are still allowed to unify.

WBO, WBC, WBA and IBF don't rank eac others world title holders.. They would however rank an IBO world champion
