The decisive factors for success at HW division ?

Post by ValMar »

There are many factors common for boxing, generally speaking. HW division (the most important one, and the most recognized one) is a little bit different, bucause of possible difference in weight between fighters. I don't pretend to be an expert, but I have been following boxing more than 40 years, and, naturaly, the HW is my favourite weight division. So, in this topic I will mention HW elite fighters who have been active since 2000, (although I remember some great champions - Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, etc...etc...). Of course, I will consider current HWs, too.

For me, these factors are the most important for success at HW :

1. Skillset - the best examples : Lewis, Holyfield, T. Fury, Haye
2. Punching power - the best examples : Tyson, Tua, Lewis, W. Klitschko, Joshua, Haye
3. Chin - the best examples : V. Klitschko, Tua
4. Stamina - the best examples : Klitschko brothers, Holyfield, T. Fury
5. Heart / Cojones - the best examples : V. Klitschko, Holyfield, Lewis
6. Size (height/reach/weight) - the best examples : Klitschko brothers, Lewis, Valuev, T. Fury

What do you think about ?

There are only two main factors that stand above all the rest! 1. How hard can you Punch.. 2 can you take hard shot and keep going! Basically being able to take as much as you can dish out, whoever that guy is will be at the top of the tree when the dust settles!
