Eubank Jr. was moderately impressive last night. He was a tad over cautious during the early rounds, but nonetheless established the winning momentum very quickly against an opponent that clearly lacked ambition and who was in survival mode for the entire duration of the contest.

The ref should have stopped the fight a few rounds sooner, because Quinlan was needlessly taking a lot of punishment and wasn't trying to return fire. For the Aussie, he seemed more intent on lasting the distance rather than taking risks in order snatch the victory from the jaws of defeat.

For Eubank Jr., he should be applauded for overcoming a very awkward and durable second-tier opponent. It's incredibly difficult to look impressive against a fighter that carries no ambition and is solely intent on avoiding a stoppage defeat.

That said, the long-term hyperextended elbow injury Eubank Jr. suffers on his right arm needs to be addressed once-and-for-all, because he's had to adapt his style by throwing too many uppercuts, which are incredibly difficult shots to land. His physical inability/reluctance to throw the straight right hand puts him at a disadvantage... and may prevent him from making the grade as a top-tier elite level world-rated fighter.

Eubank Jr's issue with his hyperextended right elbow is a huge concern, because it's going to severely impede his ability to hurt and stop his opponents. And I fear that he shouldn't be allowed to share the ring with an opponent of GGG's ilk whilst faced with the disadvantage of possessing a limited array of weapons.

I also think that he needs to abandon his dad, perhaps to join TMT, Mayweather Sr. and Haymon, a group of people he's already familiar/worked with, because I fear that without receiving proper training, career management and promotion, he may never reach his full potential.

By the way, the people at ITV Box Office or Sky who was responsible for the actual ability to pay and watch the bout should be fired, because all Sky subscribers were faced with a blank blue screen after agreeing to pay for the contest.
