I don't think so. He and his fans think he won, and to add weight to their opinion many green fans who despise Mundine have been on social media saying he was robbed as have Australian boxing personalities. I also think boxing fans which I would say most mundine fans are, where as the majority of Green fans are very casual also know that the fight doesn't mean anything and when they had their meaningful fight Mundine walked away with a dominant win. In about a week no one is going to care about this fight anymore TBH.bogan whisperer wrote:Another boxer's 10 years of heartbreak is now into day 3DA GOOSE wrote:Pretty funny isn't it. Boxing fans should though as it did highlight a lot of incompetence or corruption in Australian boxing from the fight card to the officials.

Re: Mundine v Green result
Mundine has proven how badly he takes losses even when he is clearly outpointed. Like he did against Geale in the rematch. I'm sure if anyone was silly enough to ask Mundine he would still claim he won that fight and it was 4 years ago and he didn't even go close!p4p1 wrote:I don't think so. As for the crap fight overall - I think the two judges got it about right. 94-94 and 95*-94 (* Adjusted correctly for bad maths). I think it could have gone either way.
I had Danny winning the first four, 5-6 going either way, and Anthony prob winning 3/7-10 at least.
Neither fighter looked good and the fight was horrible. My six-year old could probably punch harder than Danny judging by that fight.
As far as retiring goes, Danny needs to definitely retire unless he can get fights with other over-the-hill 40yo's who are coming up in weight. No natural cruisers, no-one under 40. Regardless of cheap shot or not, with how he went down in the 1st round, a true-cruiser/light-heavy will have him snoring.
Anthony could maybe fight a domestic fight or two still or another Argentine cab driver, but he's definitely no longer anything resembling world-class.
Retire the both of you and regardless of some of your opponent choices in the past or results, you can both walk away as two of the better Aussie boxers to compete.) scored it for Mundine. Adam Auld said sportsbet were offering these odds going to the last round.
Say's it all really.
IF THAT FRAUD OF A JUDGE AND ITS NOT MIN...........IF GIVES MUNDINE THE ROUND 7 LIKE THE OTHER TWO JUDGE'S AND TAKES THE 1 POINT OFF THEN THEN 96-94 BECOMES 94-94 ON THAT FORGETFUL JUDGE'S CARD
STILL UNBELIEVABLE

Don't look now. But the sooking has already started and if the Geale rematch was anything to go by the tears will flow for a long time :

Mundine: Green Was a B*tch, I Whipped His Ass Again
The fall-out from Friday night's boxing bout between Danny Green and Anthony Mundine has continued with Mundine suggesting he may appeal against the result and also calling Green a "b*tch."
"I know I whipped his arse again," Mundine, speaking on the Caravan Conversations podcast, said.
"I whipped his arse for the second time 2-0. It ruins the credibility of the sport judging like this, officiating like this. It dampens a great sport, man.

"I did what I had to do. My passion got the better of me at times. I didn't think that I was going to back him up, but I was backing him up.
"Basically, he was being a b*tch. I wanted to fight, to engage, and all he wanted to do was to hold."
Green, who said after the majority decision there was "no chance" he won by eight points, was magnanimous after his win.
"He's a class act, man. I have always liked watching him fight," Green said of Mundine.
"I can tell you now, he's got no sh*t in him. He's a goer, because I hit him with a couple of good shots and he came back hard.
"He's digging hard and really trying to put me away. And as a fighter, you become endeared to the bloke."
Danny Green says he's surprised one judge gave him victory over Anthony Mundine by eight points.
Mundine ruled out a third bout between the pair in an interview with Fairfax Media.
"What's the point? The same sh*t could happen again," Mundine said.
"Because of what I said in the past and my out-of-the-ring characteristics in terms of voicing my opinion, it played against me.
"It's not [handled] in a professional manner, it's like they pre-judge.
"I make it hard for myself or they make it hard for me. They don't judge me fairly."

Watched it again - had Green winning 95/93!! Choc can protest as much as he likes, it wont get him anywhere. I can see fight 3 in Perth at the end of the year.amwsnw wrote:thought a draw was on the cards, although i had choc winning by 1. i have no issue with the Greeny winning but a couple of the scores are odd. one judge didnt take the point the from greeny another having it 98 90 is hard to comprehend.

Re: Mundine v Green result
you are all missing the 2 biggest points imo.
firstly the cheap shot was certainly illegal. the ref is separating them and holding onto one of the fighters. it matters diddly squat what words the ref used, it was a dog shot and you can be sure mundine knew it was, lol.
secondly if any of you listened to mundines corner, they themselves knew that mundine was losing. and its was obvious the way he was fighting that he knew he was behind. that is really all the proof you need tbh.

Nearly as illegal as Greens constant holding, headlocks, elbows & punching to the back of the head, which he always seems to get away with without warningbuster007 wrote:you are all missing the 2 biggest points imo.

Re: Mundine v Green result
I don't like Mundine particularly.
There is a saying that those who box hear as almost the last instruction every time they fight (well it used to be when I used to pay more attention to these things). It is "protect yourself at all times". There are no ifs or buts with this. Unless a ref' calls "Break" you must protect yourself at all times. Unfortunate, but true.
Green was holding and hitting a lot. But judges must count these as scoring shots unless the ref' says otherwise.
Green moved in clumsily. It may have been a tactics, but it made for ineffective and unbalanced sorties.
Unless scoring has changed under the "10 point must" system you can not have a round 10-10 if there has been a point deduction. This judge should be reminded of this.
Mundine was the cleaner puncher and hit more accurately. He won more rounds imo. He won the fight. But the world is full of poor decisions.
In the end I struggled to watch it. It was a poor standard and both men looked, and boxed, with much less power than their primes. I hope this is it for the pair of them.

Look with all Greens sooking about being weight drained etc 11 years ago and now with the closeness of this contest(with everything stacked in his favour) we all know the real winner of this rivalry.

mundine had already been deducted a point for a coward dog shot and then a few rounds later does it again for the 20th time and lands a punch on the refs chin and doesn't even get a warning for Christ sake.
have boxing rules changed?
are you allowed to clock the ref instead now if your opponent is too good for you?, lol.

You've got to be kidding? He was throwing punches and the ref walked into one. Barely touched him. And protect yourself at all times is the golden rule. That's was a sad day for Aussie boxing when we can do that sort of rubbish to some one I always believed boxing was out of reach from of some one not liking another persons political view's and you know ''leave your race religion at the door'' if those judge's did that to Green or anyother Aussie fighter I would say the same thing its terrible for boxing period.
