To further confuse the issue, aren't many of the fight nights (20 per year) to be simulcast on BT Sport?

Until we see how these are chosen - i.e. are the best ones left to allegedly only - then the HD question on Sky, and the overall position on Virgin is pretty unclear.

For anyone with BT Broadband, it's worth considering a BT Broadband/BT TV deal, given the low cost of the sports via there including HD.

This is all a little shambolic - when I spoke to allegedly yesterday they said the deal doesn't start til 1 April.....

BN have apparently got the GGG-Jacobs fight (its yet to be announced though) and apparently that's also going to be available on BT..it's all very confusing

thing is darkstar, it's almost impossible to do that.

you have to give a month's notice to cancel, and in that time they usually add quite a few fights.

Are you sure that's the case? Or are you talking about BN on the TV? I subscribed online for the Canelo-Smith fight and cancelled the same month, they only charged me for the 1 month.


BTW - Is BN currently available in HD or not?

I thought their 'PPV' was basically a way for non-subscribers to grab a fight but not commit to any longer term contract. Or for licensed premises / internet viewers or whatever.

This is my understanding of the BN PPV scope as well. £30 for a one off night of boxing in HD, for none subscribers.

When I phoned up to cancel BN they offered to keep it going at half price for a month, but HD isn't worth anything extra to me if it's all going to BT in SD anyway. Nice to make a saving for once.

Play BT at there own game. Got BT 15months ago with a Groupon deal for £10 per month. Then got a 12 month contract at £14 pm and now been offered £13 pm to stay with them. Will cancel allegedly when it goes live and if any PPVs pop up the £12 allegedly saving will cover it.

Just got to get into the bt loop and always threaten to cancel and get the deal.

Frank allegedly has in recent months confirmed B0xnati0n are likely to do 2 or 3 PPV shows in 2017. Under the deal with BT Sports I'm wondering if there is some devil in the details.

BT have confirmed the following in their FAQ's about B0xnati0n:

"Will I get access to B0xNati0n's pay-per-view events?
B0xNati0n's pay-per-view events are not included within the BT Sport pack. You'll need to pay for them separately."

On the B0xnati0n website they continue to confirm the following in their facts section:

"We'll never ask subscribers to pay-per-view to watch fights"

I suspect there is going to be a sting in the tail. I think that those who subscribe to B0xnati0n directly via B0xnati0n will get any future PPV's included in their monthly subscription. Those who cancel their current subscription and get the channel through BT Sports pack will no longer be classed as a B0xnati0n subsriber and will not get the PPV events.

It's long been suspected that B0xnati0n have around 80,000 to 100,000 subscribers. How many of those already have BT Sports or might consider switching to the BT Sports pack? Let's just say a few months into this new deal realistically how many people will be subscribing via B0xnati0n directly? 30,000 to 40,000? I don't think it would be worth B0xnati0ns time to piss off such a small number of long standing loyal customers by insisting they would also have to pay to watch the PPV's. The target audience for PPV buys is more likely be the 5m+ homes that BT Sport allegedly reaches.

We should know in the next few days how the PPV will work.

I'm wondering if they are using the Pacman Vs. Horn as some kind of testing ground. I've noticed that Pacman Vs. Horn, at the moment anyway, is just being shown on the B0xnati0n HD channel. The standard B0xnati0n channel is showing live MMA from Poland. This of course could just be an error on the EPG however the B0xnati0n website is advertising both shows. What this means, at the moment anyway, only those who subscribe to the channel directly from B0xnati0n or as part of the BT Sport pack on the BT TV platform will be able to watch the Pacman fight on B0xnati0n HD.

Pac v Horn only being on HD is a fuckup on the EPG, remember there is no allegedly HD on Virgin Media at all...
