Round-By-Round - David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
Hearn has some nerve ripping Eubanks PPV and then dragging this assortment of drivel out!

Bellew knows he's going to get beaten and beaten badly. He's lining up his excuses already. He looks sick in his face, like a man facing an executioner.

Re: Bellew vs Haye -who wins?
How on earth can they spout such nonsense, surely nobody aside from Bellew's nan can think he's the favourite here.Supremo wrote:WWE forum for this thread!
I scanned boxing monthly yesterday and they'd a 11 page preview of this farce as if it was some meaningful match up- the two sky aligned respondents- Froch and Johnny Nelson predictably toed the party line and pretended that they think Belles will stop Haye- aye nae bother Johnny....
I refused to buy the magazine for the first time in years rather than encourage it. I Remember it used to be a serious boxing magazine.
Bellew hasn't the power or the resilience to suggest he has a shadow of a chance. No way can I see him surviving long enough to make a case for points, and I can't see him being able to trade with Haye, or indeed, outfight him from range.
Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
Haye is bigger, punches harder, has faster hands, is more elusive, and in general is the significantly better fighter. I think pretty much every power shot he lands is going to hurt Bellew, and it's hard for me to see how the latter wins without a lucky punch being involved.

Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
His main hope is that Haye thinks it's Bulla in the opposite corner, and gets scared.
Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
He's has two hopes , no hope and bob hope and bobs left town
Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
His only chance is Hayes age, ring rust and shoulder surgery turning Haye into a shadow of his former self, but even then, Bellew os still unlikely to win.
Bellew is done for, my advice is lump on Haye to win via KO early doors.

If Bellew somehow pulls this off it will be my favourite boxing result since Gomez did Arthur.
I don't think it will be as clear cut as most people think. Bellew is a far better fighter than he's being given credit for.

Haye's maybe playing mind games to let Bellew think he's not training hard. Remember the way he screwed poor Enzo with tales of struggling to make weight.

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to believe that Haye is partying on yachts.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Haye's maybe playing mind games to let Bellew think he's not training hard.
David is undoubtedly working super hard preparing for this fight. Anything other than a conclusive Haye victory will damage a future-potential Haye vs AJ fight.
Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
How can a man who got pummelled by Adonis Stevenson possibly take the power of David Haye? I would be amazed.

What's not to like about David Haye. Charismatic, handsome, eloquent, lives the high life and backs up what he says.

To be honest he leads a pretty envious life. His old trainer Mick Carney (RIP) once told me (after they'd been estranged)....CaptainSpacerod wrote:What's not to like about David Haye. Charismatic, handsome, eloquent, lives the high life and backs up what he says.
"All David ever wanted to do was knock people out and rump up birds..... so you could say he's done pretty well!" He chuckled.

I really enjoyed that. Both guys are supremely confident. I wouldn't expect anything less.

Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
I think Bellew deserves a lot of credit for calling for this fight, he didn't need it but he's got it now when he could've just stayed and defended his title at Cruiser
I would like to see a competitive fight but I just cant see Tony making it past 3, infact I think Haye will KO him in a round, it will end when Haye wants it to end and I doubt he'll want to carry Bellew like he did for a few rounds with Audley, I think he'll want to humiliate Bellew for all his smack talk and demolish him to make a statement, anything less than a early KO win will be unnaccepatable to him and his team
Bellew is a great cruiser and has carried his power up but the way Flores tagged him with right hands was worrying, Haye will only need to land one of those and its curtains, Haye is the biggest puncher in boxing IMO and will only need to clip Tony to hurt him, I do want to see Bellew do well though and have success because I want to see a competitive fight but I just cant see it, Haye's stamina has always been suspect even before the lay off so it would be interesting to see how it would pan out if Bellew can make it past 6 into his terrotory but even then Haye always has fight ending power, Haye in 1

Bellew certainly has balls taking it but I disagree with you that he doesn't need the fight. He knows that he doesn't have long left and whilst he's probably financially comfortable he certainly won't have made millions. This is a cashout fight, nothing more nothing less and to be fair no-one can blame him for that. I just hope he doesn't get hurt here as he's in way over his head.handsofstone wrote:I think Bellew deserves a lot of credit for calling for this fight, he didn't need it but he's got it now when he could've just stayed and defended his title at Cruiser

I'm not sure why I even bothered to watch it but the gloves are off last night was terrible. David Haye just responded like a child to everything that was said and he came across very badly. Was definitely a Tony win.
Not that it will make any difference to him being knocked out on Saturday mind...
I've always been a Haye fan, but he is starting to get annoying with his chat in the lead up to this. The whole putting in hospital stuff is disappointing. The only saving grace is that Bellew isn't going to be able to take enough punches to get seriously hurt, otherwise them comments would look terrible if anything happened.

It is a cash out fight, if he was offered the chance to defend his WBC title, or fight Haye, for the same money, we know what he'd pick. Not criticising him, we'd all do exactly the same. Good luck to Tony I hope he goes out on his shieldSteveDow wrote:Bellew certainly has balls taking it but I disagree with you that he doesn't need the fight.
