Your ratings are way off.

Post by Coolstar666 »

Your ratings in EVERY division are bullshit and very inaccurate!!! But let me talk about your Lightweight rankings, they are CRAZY!!!! For a start Barthelemy is moving upto Super Lightweight, so you need to remove him from the Lightweight rankings, and why don't you show some respect to Dejan Zlaticanin, you have him ranked at 10, what a load of BULLSHIT. Zlaticanin is the WBC Lightweight Champ, he is a big puncher and he's unbeaten, and he is the guy Linares is scared to fight, twice he has run away from a fight with Zlaticanin. How the hell can you have the Russin Petr Petrov ranked at number 5 and Zlaticanin at NUmber 10??? You morons clearly know NOTHING about Boxing. Zlaticanin has already beaten Petrov EASILY 3 years ago. Zlatican is the most feared fighter in the Lightweight division and that is FACT, he belongs at Number 1, it's as plain and simple as that, I hope you correct your stupid rankings in the very near future.

Re: Barthelemy
Moving to super lightweight is one thing....doing it is another. His last fight was IBF lightweight title & previous was at same weight class.
Ratings are computerized. Please view: http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/BoxRe ... escription Login is same as forum

Yes I know Barthelemy last fight was at Lightweight, but it's pretty much certain he's moving up to Super Lightweight, already talk of him vs Crawford sometime in 2017. Also, surely you agree on my point about Zlaticanin?? Terribly inaccurate and disrespectful to have this guy ranked at number 10, 5 places below a guy he SOUNDLY beat 3 years ago!!! :bag:

If there's someone who doesn't get it, it's probably you, my friend. First, we don't change fighters to a higher/lower weight class unless they actually had a fight in that weight class (although there might be exceptions), but as for the rankings, they are completely computerized. Zlaticanin is one of the best at lightweight, but who has he beaten just yet? The best fighter on his resume is probably tier-2 fighter Mamani from Bolivia...

He hasn't fought any of the top fighters in the division because they are all scared to fight him!!! Linares has TWICE pulled out of fighting him, Linares wants no piece of Zlaticanin, that's why he vacated the WBC belt, and that's why he preferred the much easier task of fighting Anthony Crolla for another version of the World title in Crolla's own backyard. Another "top guy" who wants no piece of Zlat is the WBO Champ, that Manchester bum Terry Flanagan, Flanagan talks a good game, but when it comes to it, he prefers fighting old guys in their mid 40's, lol. All I can say is, I really hope the fight between Zlaticanin and Mikey Garcia comes off, because that will be a great fight IF it happens!!! Also if you think that Bolivian guy Mamani is better than Ricky Burns and Petr Petrov then you obviously know nothing about Boxing!!!! lol

How can somebody be ranked at a weight they've never fought at?

That's total BS, Chris Eubank Jr was listed at number 7 in the Super Middleweight ratings on this site BEFORE the Quinlan fight (that was his very first fight at the super middleweight limit).

the Ratings are a bit off to be fair, there is just too many points given to Title fights leaving thousands of excellent fighters split wide on final tallies.

it is really very simple...

1 point for every fight fought

2 points for a Win
1 points for a Draw
0 points for a Lose

3 points for a National title - Win
2 points for Elimination Contention fights
1 point for competing in either of the above

4 points for a world elimination contention fights - Win
3 points for a world elimination contention fights - Lose

5 points for a World title fight Win
4 points for a World title fight lose...

much more equal and no ridiculously Wide gaps between TOP fighters!

Jim - Boxrec ratings are terrible. There are lots of instances like the Zlaticanin-Petrov situation where a boxer has beaten the other but the losing fighter is ranked above. Simple points for wins like you suggest though never works. Every fighter has a value and so a win against a meaningless fighter is almost valueless whilst a win against a top tenner should garn you lost of points. Or you get a situation where 5 meaningless wins are worth more than one good one.

Have a look at these http://www.premierboxingorganisation.co ... weight-135 No one with any sanity could ever say these are worse than Boxrec, they have flaws like any ratings. No ones will agree with anyones list completely of 100 fighters in 17 divisions.

Petrov has done quite well but as we saw he got well beat by Zlaticanin. That aside you can only keep a fighter ahead of another for so long and a good Petrov win or another loss for Zlaticanin and they will pass each other.

yeah you have to ADD Points for ALL Title Fights, be they World Title Fight and/or OTHER Titles, but I think thats where the Rankings become Widely Distorted.

10 points for National Titles - Countries
15 for International REGIONAL Titles - Gloabal Regions and (Alphabet world titles)
25 for World Titles - LEGIT!!!

something like that on top of the General pointing for fights & Contests.

BUT you can't have SRR for example, and the rest, hundreds or thousands of point even, ahead of LOADS of hundreds of Great fighters, it gives the wrong credit to some and the even worse 'lack' of credit to HUNDREDS of GREAT fighters.

Surely there is a system that doesn't come up with such Inacuracies?

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A PERFECT RATINGS EVER NO MATTER WHO DOES THEM. POINTS DON'T MEAN NOTHING IF OPPONENT BEATS SOMEONE WITH HUNDREDS OF POINTS SUCH AS A DOUGLAS BEATS DOWN A TYSON.
TRYING TO DO RATINGS IS NO JOKE YOU CAN HAVE CORRECT RATINGS TODAY AND A JOKE TOMORROW.
THAT IS BOXING. POINTS DON'T MEAN GUARANTEED CORRECT IT IS SOMEONE'S SYSTEM TO TRY AND BETTER THE RATINGS. THIS KEEPS HUMAN FAVORITISM FROM DOING RATINGS THAT ARE BOUGHT!
