"WBN have been informed Kell Brook will defend his IBF welterweight title against mandatory challenger Errol Spence Jr. on May 20 in Sheffield."
According to Chairman Lindsey Tucker, Hearn and Spence’s promoter Tom Brown are happy with the fight taking place in England, where the bout looks set to be heading for television coverage on Sky Sports Box Office.
"The purse bid was canceled. The date I was given is May 20 with Brook v Spence taking place in Sheffield," Tucker exclusively told WBN.
Spence by towel waving from Brook's corner so he doesn't look so bad. The body shots will break Brook down by mid fight. Spence is also very good at fighting his way out of a clinch so Brook's jab and grab won't work. In the end folks will say Brook was ahead before he was stopped.
Big step up for Spence. It'll be interesting to see if Brook is weakened by coming back down to 147. I'll be leaning toward Spence to win via late TKO here, but it's a real interesting fight.
Some factors in this fight. Did the G fight take something away from Kell? How will the cut be? I personally think this is a tough fight for Spence. At this point I am leaning towards Brook. Great fight!
