Never spotted this last week.
The Taylor fight was interesting.

Taylor came in taller and more powerfully built than Mcguigan, he looked like a lightweight in there. For the first 4 rounds I couldn't see how McGuigan could get into this, the ring looked big and Taylor used it well, his movent was brilliant and Barry couldn't pin him down. In fact he wasn't even trying to cut him off, just following him round the ring.

Taylors jab was sharp, he countered well with one and two shots and backed McGuigan up well with straight shots to the body when he threatened to get Taylor near the ropes. McGuigan never had an answer.
4 rounds up and I had Taylor 4 ahead but then he just ground to a standstill. I scored the 5th even but the momentum had swung. Mcguigan grew with every round and Taylor slowed with every round until the 8th when he took a beating before retiring.

I watched this without volume (champions league was on tele) was there any explantion for Taylor fading so badly? He shipped a couple rights in the 5th but nothing that looked like it hurt him. Did he have stamina issues?
He looked really big, can anyone remember if he had issues with the weight?

All in a bloody good win for the persistent Irishman but I think he dodged a bullet because the Taylor of the first 4 rounds was all wrong for him. Taylor wasn't even working particularly hard that you'd have expected him to go so badly downhill

Harry said he had trouble with the weight that morning. The atmosphere won't have helped.

Makes sense, he totally hit the wall

Think McGuigan would have been in bother if Taylor had the engine to keep on going
