Gotta feel for Vargas, without that swelling I think he may have won that fight, if that was from a clash of heads then doubly so, I suspect it was as early on Mosley didn't land much.
Mosley looked pretty good when he planted his feet and let his hands go, but looked unable to throw the combinations often enough, as usual.
He's got no fornicating hope against Mayweather, zippo, zilch. There just isn't the snap on the punches any more.
Vargas boxed pretty well throughout, and the funny thing was, he was doing pretty well in the 9th and 10th despite that closed eye. Mosley barely grazed him and Cortez leapt in, you could tell he was desperate to stop it. No real complaints as it was a pretty terrible swelling, but Vargas seemed toi be nipping under the right pretty well.
Shame he won't get a rematch as I'd fancy him to have a chance.
Mosley v Vargas rerun
Just watched the fight on sky, Vargas didn't really seem too effected by the eye, a lot of heads coming together but other than that it was a good battle. Mosley looked better than his last few fight's and now he wants Mayweather at welterweight. Is he gonna get the winner of Judah/Mayweather could be quite tasty. As for Vargas he looked a lot stronger than Mosley but dont think he really troubled him that much.
where does Fernando Vargas go from here he's still only 28?

Mosley was 159lbs fight time, so there was only 7lbs difference between them on the night. However, it appeared to be a lot more than this just by looking at the fighters.Crazy to think that Vargas was 166 on fight night. He looked so bigger than Mosley who had to be glad to emerge with the win no matter how he got it
i think mosely has been fighting at the wrong weight for a while now.(minus his two recent showings at 147<8>
Hes a welterweight at best. But he has proved his chin is solid and he can compete at the highest level a division above where he should be.
Based on this and him being no stranger to fast hands(dlh) and a tight defence(wright) Im sure he could have some success against the naturally smaller mayweather. I wouldnt dismiss his chances completely.
