Michael Spinks (1985) against present day Cruiser Weight boxers ?

Today, I rewatched the first Spinks-Holmes match, it was close and competitive, but, Spinks deserved the victory.
What do you think about Spinks' chances against modern day CWs (in the fantasy land, of course) ?
His weight was exactly 200, so, it shouldn't be discussion about the weight issue.

In the last three months you’ve created three threads in the “current scene” board discussing how Michael Spinks would fare against modern day fighters.

Why can’t you post these type of threads in the boxing history section, since fantasy fights that cannot possibly take place today that involve fighters that retired about thirty years ago, has no relationship to the “current scene”... unless you can confirm for definite that the Jinx is making a ring return at 200lbs at the grand old age of 60½ years?

I enjoy your threads, since the subject matter is interesting, but I just feel that they don't relate to the "current scene", because the fantasy scenarios that you propose cannot possibly occur in anyone's version of reality today.

If you want to keep posting your threads in this board, then that's fine by me, but you may get a better reaction (i.e. more views and more responses) in the history section, which is frequented by people that prefer to discuss pugilists that competed yesteryear.

Put it this way, the topic of this thread is about a fighter that retired almost thirty years ago, which may be older than many of the posters that contribute to the “current scene” board and I suspect the people that frequent the “boxing history” section may be able to provide a more educated response.

To be honest, I have not got enough time for this forum, and I try to discuss, from time to time, only on "current scene " . Sad, but true....
I have been following boxing (especially HW) since my childhood (born 1965) and can remember Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, etc...
So, your idea is not bad, not at all...Next time, I will open the new thread on "history"......

I don't think he would fight at cruiser. Career light heavy, he only moved up for the money and prestige.

Oleksanr Usyk would beat him.. Just too big, strong, tall, fast, tough, and skilled.. Spinks' knees started giving him problems when he went to 200.. I think the added weight was too much for the knees.. First it was 1 knee than it was both knees.

He had both knees heavily wrapped and braced for Tyson -- so I think he was cashing in -- and indeed it was his last fight.

He's got a long way to prove himself as good as Holyfield. Not saying it's impossible.
