Delighted to see him leave Joe. Quigg can still do big things in boxing.

Bold and sensible move from Quigg. He seems to have the right attitude. Trains hard and listens so if anyone can improve his game Freddie is the man. Interesting times ahead.

If he wanted to get any better I think a switch was called for. Roach is one of the elite and IMO a good choice to move Quigg beyond the slow starting, ultra basic approach he has now.

Which "world title" did he "win" again?

the writing has been on the wall for sometime now, got to the point where Scott couldn't stand joe so let's not be fooled by the nice statement, but good luck to Scott a great move, I think Ricky Hatton would of been a good move for Scott as well

Why on earth would roach work with Quigg, bang average fighter who got schooled when he fought the 1 world class opponent on his CV. Is he giving him 50% or something?

I wouldn't say he got schooled at all. He was told after the 7th that Sky had him way down and he looked shocked in the corner. He was following Gallaghers gameplan. He then came out and clearly won rounds 8/9/10 and 11 for me.

I thought he lost all the other rounds, although some were very close and I can see him nicking one or two. One judge had Quigg 115-113 winner.

If he got going quicker, he could well have won that fight.

I thought he won 5 rounds against Frampton, with his rounds being won by larger margins than Carl's. Had he fought even slightly better early on the result could've been different for him.

He had a very badly broken jaw as well. He's looked really good in some fights.

But the jaw was inflicted by frampton so hardly an excuse he caused it, also I think frampton looked weak his last few fighters at 122 much better in the Santa Cruz fights

I heard Scott wasn't happy and thought joe was a dick head, I don't think he will be the last to leave. *taps nose*

Actually think this match is a great one, well done Scot. Hope Joe doesn't give him a hard time in the media for leaving him

What media? Even if he did, it’s hardly profile stuff is it? Water off a duck’s back.

It was after the 8th he was told. :TU: watch it back that's when Gallagher said sky have only given him 2 rounds. I gave him zero in the arena and watching it back at home a few weeks later.

With the diabolical judging on display if he actually put effort in the first 8 he could have knocked the fight on an SD.

Couldn't see it personally with Smith having a fight scheduled, but Gallagher wasn't at either of the pressers which I thought was odd considering he loved being infront of cameras

Interesting one because I thought he was settled interest greater Manchester area and dint seem to be one to leave, that's why it seemed he may have gone to Hatton.

That said maybe he wants to get out of his comfort zone as that's what he thinks is needed to get better. Taking the dreadful tactics of the Frampton fight aside, I thought he may want to move because Gallagher has too many fighters and he wants to be a higher priority.

Well roach has even more, I watch some fighters in America and don't even realise roach trains them until they fight.

This suits Scott because is he trains all the time ( I don't think sky have made this very clear :OhYes: ) and can go to Roach for camp.

Yeh I agree, fi it's more one-to-one trainer time he wants I'm not sure going to Roach is gona be the answer. He'll obviously get great sparring out there, but also, how far has Roach's Parkinsons Disease progressed over the last few years? Is that gona affect his eye for things and his ability to work one-to-one with his fighters? I think it will.

I think any move away from Gallagher is a good move at this stage for Quigg, but think there might have been better options for him in the UK, e.g. Adam Booth.

This always goes on the assumption that the later rounds would play out identical to how they did no matter what happened in the earlier rounds which is an unlikely proposition. Change the earlier rounds and the later ones would be different too. Quigg may have tired and we have seen Frampton has a good engine and he could have come on strong and stopped Quigg, or or or or or pick a scenario

Good move I think. He was badly in need of a change. I like him, but he's incredibly one dimensional and I place a fair bit of that at the door of Gallagher.
