Canelo JCC Fight Odds

Post by diddy »

Just saw this fight is +160 to go the distance.

Wtf?! Seriously?

Does anyone possibly see one of these guys knocking out the other? How are the odds this good? 2 guys who are as durable as anyone in boxing.

Canelo's power has become a bit overrated in my opinion, The Kirkland and Khan stoppages were devestating, but each of them are notoriously chinny.

I imagine that some people will also question how JCC deals with making weight.

I imagine it's due to Chavez cutting that much weight and that he quit in his last real fight. Canelo is going to have a lot more energy at that weight too. A tko wouldn't surprise me at all.

Chavez quit against a light heavyweight not a super welterweight.

Fonfara is a much larger man than Canelo that one would imagine hits much harder. Fonfara was the biggest guy Chavez ever fought. When he realized he couldn't impose himself physically he gave in mentally. I doubt he will ever feel that physically defeated against Canelo. I'm fairly certain Canelo outboxes him with ease but even Sergio did that and Chavez never gave up that day.

Lol, you asked a question and I gave a possible answer. Not sure what you're arguing.

Fonfara was hurting 172-lb (at weigh-in) Chavez vs weakened 164.5-lb Chavez.

I see your point but dont you think it had alot to do with the size of the individual he was fighting? He just so happened to give in the one time against the one large fighter he's ever faced? He's never shown that quitters mentality against all the guys he's been bigger than - and he's much bigger than Canelo. I suppose fighting at the lower weight could drain him but he actually appears to be in shape far ahead of the fight. At these good odds it certainly seems worth the risk to me.

I think it had to do with his not give a shit attitude hitting rock bottom. I don't disagree with the odds being off, but I wouldn't touch it either way. This will be the best canelo we've ever seen.

I believe Canelo bit off more than he can chew with Chavez, and is banking on fighting a drained undisciplined fighter. And he will pay dearly for it. Canelo's overrated power will be on full display and it won't even make a dent in Julio's chin. And Chavez is going to be throwing vicious shots every round.. pressure is gonna get to Canelo, and he's going to take a beating. I expect the judges to help him as usual though, so Chavez needs to knock him out. If anybody is getting knocked out, it's Raggedy Ann. Chavez has Mexican pride on the line, he will be ready for this one.
