Is Bernard Dunne one of the worst fighters to win a world title?

Always enjoyed seeing Dunne fight and went to a few in Dublin at the National Stadium which is an amazing venue for boxing and for the atmosphere.

Never heard a bad word said about Bernard around Dublin, such a humble man who has time for everyone and I think still does a lot for his amateur boxing club.

Bit harsh to view him as one of the worst fighters to win a World Title. He got his tactics wrong for Kiko and it was heart breaking to listen to him in the ring after that fight. He then rebounds and gets beat by another good fighter. No shame in that.

Lot of love on this thread for Quigg. Don't think he has a stand-out win that Bernard has on his resume (yet).

You'd be very hard pushed to find anyone who thinks Dunne would beat Quigg.

Córdoba was top quality, took Rigo to a split decision after getting knocked out by Dunne, he also scored good wins at Euro level, but of course did not have the longevity to judge him over a longer period.
The Córdoba fight was a war, the type of fights which shorten careers.

Cordoba was good, but hardly a monster. He was on a similar level to Sidorenko and Poonsawat.

He had also beat Caballero, who was #1 in the division.

Lets be honest not many, outside of Ireland, gave him a chance against Cordoba, so lets not be revisionists and do down the victory with the benefit of hindsight.

Not really they fought in 2010 for a Super Bantam title and Marquez went back to Super Bantam in 2011. I cannot remember Vasquez ever fighting at Feather officially (or for a title).

What two underated fighter Marquez and Vasquez were.
