Broner v Khan

Apologies if this has already been done but Boxing News just appeared on another social media site asking me who I think would win

It's a bloody good question, in my humble opinion.

Two fast, flawed fighters. Broner obviously has a better chin but is Khan smarter? And up until 135 (Gavin Rees) Broner was stopping people fairly early but since moving up he's stopped 2 of 9 & they were 9th & 12th round TKO's.

On the other hand Khan has only stopped one opponent since Judah almost six years ago. Since then he's 5-3 with 2 KO's. His win against Alexander was masterful but that was a while ago.

How do you see this fight panning out, should it happen?

Pretty much how I see it - although I also wouldn't be at all surprised if Broner managed to time a counter and stop Khan in a similar way to Garcia.

How has Khan recovered from Alvarez sparking him out? Would like to see him v Broner, would be a good watch.

I'd favour khan for the simple reason that he works harder.

I don't think Broner hits hard at 147 at all, and think Khan would win on points relatively easily.

Broner's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.

Both of those stoppages were dubious too

Broner was somewhat of a size bully at 135 and below, and now that he's doing less damage he cant get away as easily with the low output.

At 147 I'd pick Khan all day long. He'd be to fast and he's got the workrate to win via wide points.

Broners workrate non-existent again last weekend and I can't see him being quick enough to land his flashy-rangy counters against Khan.

Khan UD. With Broner's fairly flat footed style I think Khan would have plenty of time to land his flashy combinations from the outside without giving the smaller Broner a chance to counter. To Broner's credit he does seem to be able to take a decent shot so I don't see Khan stopping him. Just don't see Broner being able to match Khan's output, especially if Khan makes him use his feet.

I'd be a little surprised, but it wouldn't be the most shocking thing in the world. Khan survived for quite a while after getting hurt badly by Garcia, and Garcia attacked the sh*t out of him for a good 2 and a half more minutes before getting the stoppage. I don't think Broner can attack that consistently, so it'd need to be a one shot finish or close to it for him to stop Khan.

Yeah, I thought he was lucky to get the nod myself, he didn't look at all impressive.

I originally voted Khan points but after thinking more about it, I'm not sure what he's got left in the tank. Coming off the back of a horrific KO and will have been out of the ring for at least a year by time he makes any kind of comeback

You don't have to hit hard to shake Khan to his boots. The shot that Broner hit Porter with would have had Khan in serious trouble. God knows what Khan Will be like after nearly having his head taken off by Alvarez.
An on form Khan could win a wide decision, but I'd never pick him with any confidence.
