Frank Buglioni has joined Matchroom and will be defending his British light-heavyweight title on the undercard of David Haye vs Tony Bellew.

The 'Wise Guy' will take on Ricky Summers before the bitter heavyweight battle on Saturday, March 4, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

"I wanted to get the British title and prove to myself and the fans that I was championship material and could put on a performance," he said.

"I was very impressed with the whole set-up for the Burton fight with Sky Sports, the build-up was great and as soon as the offer came from Eddie I jumped at it as Matchroom and Sky Sports are putting on great shows all year round, this is the platform to be on."

On the day it was announced the 'Wise Guy' has joined Matchroom, his fight against Ricky Summers on Saturday, March 4, live on Sky Sports Box Office, was thrown into doubt.

It is an untimely setback for Buglioni (19-2-1-KO15) but he has vowed to do everything he can to get back into the ring as soon as possible.

My only criticism of Frank is that he gets a LOT of punches and I'm unsure how far he could go up in levels.

He'll really be needing the right fights to get to World title contention.

I guess I get fed up of seeing promoters use and abuse fighters but your comment above is true its all business I guess. Deserves it after the win against Burton, showed great heart, determination and finishing instincts to get the win in a brilliant British title fight. Would love to see the rematch this year. In reality the chances are he's never going to go on to world level but there's nothing wrong with defending his British title a few times and testing himself at European level if he can get a decent run of form together. Good fighter to watch.
