Think people are being hard on him personally I always thought he comes across as a really nice guy.
Not a good quality for a boxer to have.

Agreed.Stuarty30 wrote:Not half as good as he thought he was. Don't see him as the type that would be happy spending the rest of his career fighting at domestic level and unfortunately for him that's his ceiling IMO.
Can you give an example (or two) of what constitutes a “career in the media”? It seems like a throwaway line to me. I understand “media” to mean TV, journalism, radio....where unless you’re the teaperson, some sort of formal qualification is needed.Stuarty30 wrote:

TV. I don't expect him to be writing articles in the Guardian anytime soon. What did you think I meant? Or are you just being facetious and pedantic?magwitch wrote:Can you give an example (or two) of what constitutes a “career in the media”? It seems like a throwaway line to me. And why in “the media”? To me that sounds like a hell of a lot of doors to close just because you were once a C-list celeb.
I may be wrong, but I thought he was a student of some form or other whilst he was coming up.
On a side note Ogogo made his debut on the undercard of Khan-Diaz, which also featured Wilder vs. Audley. I know cos I went
Your last paragraph was absolutely spot on. Harrison was......well, pathetic that night. Can’t be arsed to go into it but he waited a full minute for Wilder to come and tw*t him, so Wilder did. It was truly sh*t. Not even a flush hit......just some down off a cuff boll*cks, which he was already chucking himself on the deck to get away from - and I like Harrison, bless him.Stuarty30 wrote:TV. He was on that Charlie's Web show on BN and came across quite knowledgable. Perhaps a punditry role would suit him?
I have no idea about the guys qualifications away from the sport.
Khan Diaz was an interesting one. Could make a strong case for Diaz in that one IMO. Audley v Wilder was a piss take!

Amir Khan looked like he could “go” any second from about 8 onwards that night. He was a whisker away!
As regards the Ogogo........not being funny.....it just seems a mixed up term to me thesedays. Why the HELL would anybody want to give Ogogo a full-time wage to be a pundit? Would your boss pay you a month’s salary for an hour here, an hour there? “media career” it’s a blanket term for absolutely f*ck all! In the nicest way possible

I think it’s a bit risky trying to make a living off your “fame”. One day you will wake up and you won’t be relevant....you only have to look at the number of 50 odd yr olds that wind up completely broke, selling their dignity for a few grand on Big Brother and the like....Stuarty30 wrote:No worriesmagwitch wrote:Your last paragraph was absolutely spot on. Was just a thought. I can't see him being happy just fighting domestically for the rest of his career because he seems the type who needs attention and the spotlight.
