I think there should be a separate part of the forum for betting threads and people with a certain number of posts are only allowed on. Nothing stopping the odds compilers from setting up and account and eventually joining but it would make things more difficult. You'll be lucky to get the 3.75 on Bute points now
This happened a few years ago on Betfair with a little group setting up a private forum to swap ideas. The trouble was that as you suggest nobody really knew who they were talking to so any info gleaned would always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Also as you alluded to in a previous post there's no liquidity on the exchanges until very near fight night so any value identified was hard to turn into tangible reward consistently.

Bute on points is 4/1 with paddy power.

That's what i'm saying. Maybe he mean't decimal odds though?
Yeah I meant decimal, 4/1 is 5.00. I'm pretty happy with that price. I should of jumped on to 3.75 like Jim but to be fair I dont see Bute join get a light heavyweight in the top 15. I just think they are gunna rob Alvarez if it's close.

Just added a little underdog stab on a bout on the UK card on allegedly Friday afternoon. I just read an article about this- Harley is Nigel Benn's estranged 20 year old son from his first marriage with no real amateur experience who, unlike his half brother Conor, hasn't been getting the benefit of his dad's championship experience and training. Worth a fade at this price.

Dominik Zubko (+1700) vs Harley Benn ~$29.88 for ~$507.88

Apparently, the term for a UK boxing streaming service and all the variant spellings of it automatically get turned into the word "allegedly" on this forum, lol. I guess I wasn't around for the origin of that silliness.

Having a dabble on Harris W by KO against Essomba.

Harris has had 6 KO's on the bounce and over 12 rounds I'm taking the 10/3 odds for £30

I like that too, cutsman, just from looking at the BoxRec stats. Harris sure has a lot of KOs for a tiny flyweight!

Jay Harris (-147) vs Thomas Essomba ~$89.63 for ~$60.97
Jay Harris wins inside distance (+299) $35.00 for $104.65

Not privy to women's boxing but Braekhus who is the undisputed champ is taking on Svensson. Seems she's struggled to make weight so at 8/1 I'm gunna make a small play on the upset.

Its only 4 rounds, even if Benn loses he will get the decision.

More than likely, but Nathanial Wilson (Eubank's estranged son) only drew with Josh Thorne (1-5) in his "big" debut. That said he was pretty crap.

Not sure about that. His famous dad is not in his corner and I have no idea who his trainer is or if he has any big promoter behind him in this pro debut.

allegedly/Queensbury promotions are promoting him on a 3 year deal, this fight is also at super middleweight and Benn is fighting against a middleweight and weighed in nearly 6 pounds heavier than his opponent.

Essomba to stop Harris @4/1 looks tasty. I understand why the odds are what they are, but Harris has never been more than 4 rounds so a late stoppage by Essomba perhaps

He won, he didn't look good though he looked like his never even trained in a boxing gym before. His clearly to small for his weight and needs to drop down a division.

I agree, he looked raw. No way should Benn have been such a massive favorite over a boxer with more experience than him and a couple of wins despite getting the second round TKO.

Good flyweight fight. Glad I bet Harris straight though, not just the ITD prop, as Essomba was very tough. Small net profit with the Harris decision.

Poxton coming out hard, probably won the first two rounds. Stabbing at the decision:

Craig Poxton Points Victory or Technical Decision (+1000) vs Boy Jones Jr. ~$11.95 for ~$119.50

Jones' corner throws the towel in round 10 after two knockdowns. I always preach about never only betting the prop when backing an underdog and to put some on the moneyline too, but I broke my rule on live betting here.

You were so unlucky man, you did the right thing but just got unlucky, I had Jones by points but I knew he was overrated just wasn't sure if Poxton could be the one to upset him.

Yeah, luckily it was only small stakes for a big payout. So I didn't lose much at all, just didn't gain a lot like I could have. Next time I'm hitting the dog at +750 or whatever it was instead of the decision prop alone at +1000 though.

Lucian Bute was looking really good through the first four rounds, using angles, movement & footwork, getting his punches off and avoiding counters. He was up three rounds to one on my scorecard after four. But he got caught with a hard counter to the chin in round five and a follow up in the same spot a few seconds later. He went down and stood up wobbly and Alvarez earned a round 5 TKO. I kept my bet small, and Lucian looked good until then so no regrets with a stab at +280. Will be interesting to see if Lucian retires now or what.
