Joshua vs Klitschko, possibility of hometown decision ?
Supposing this situation : Klitschko wins five rounds clearly, Joshua wins five rounds clearly. Two rounds are extremely close. There is not any KD nor point deduction. What kind of decision would you expect ? Why ? The great majority of fans will be on the Joshua's side, of course. What about the judges ?
Re: Joshua vs Klitschko, possibility of hometown decision ?
I'd be pretty damn surprised if this fight reaches the final bell. I wouldn't worry too much about controversy with decisions here as in all likelihood you won't be hearing any scorecards read anyhow
Re: Joshua vs Klitschko, possibility of hometown decision ?
Klitschko winning 5 rounds clearly is as likely as Sosa winning 5 rounds clearly vs Lomachenko.
If Wlad makes a clinch-fest out of this it's going to be a 12-zip shutout for AJ.. If he throws punches to win he gets knocked out -- so he can pick his poison.. But could Klitschko score a shocking KO win??? Huge upsets have happened many times in the past.. Klitschko has been knocked out before, and he's scored over 50 knockouts with his own fists.. He knows all about throwing the dice and that's the only real chance he's got.
And I'm pretty sure he'll toss the dice... If this his his last fight?? ... Klitschko doesn't want to go out of Boxing looking like he did in the Fury fight..

Yeah, the only way this will go the distance is if it's a total standoff.gilgamesh wrote:I'd be pretty damn surprised if this fight reaches the final bell. I wouldn't worry too much about controversy with decisions here as in all likelihood you won't be hearing any scorecards read anyhow
Re: Joshua vs Klitschko, possibility of hometown decision ?
Yeah how can Wlad possibly outpoint someone with vastly inferior footwork, that hasn't even gone 8 rounds, and has fought less rounds than Wlad has fights he won by knock out.Kalan wrote:Klitschko winning 5 rounds clearly is as likely as Sosa winning 5 rounds clearly vs Lomachenko.

You'd expect the home fighter to win a close one

And if Joshua just stands there and has the kinda fight with Wlad that Fury had he ain't the fighter everyone thinks he is.BitPlayer wrote:Yeah how can Wlad possibly outpoint someone with vastly inferior footwork, that hasn't even gone 8 rounds, and has fought less rounds than Wlad has fights he won by knock out.Kalan wrote:Klitschko winning 5 rounds clearly is as likely as Sosa winning 5 rounds clearly vs Lomachenko.

The nature of these threads bores the fúckíng shít out of me!
Every time there’s a half-decent bout, some múthér fúckér feels compelled to create a thread claiming that the hometown hero will be “gifted” a decision victory by the judges. Basically, the travelling fighter will be “robbed”, no matter what happens.
If you feel that the sport of boxing is really so corrupt and abhorrent, then watch some other sport instead!

It's an Eddie Hearn production, every time there's a dodgy scorecard and the commentators call it thus, Eddie gets interviewed and says "Yes thats not right, we'll look into it" and nothing is done and he repeats the same line. If the fight is close (obviously going the distance), Joshua is the favourite to win, whether he's won or not.
Re: Joshua vs Klitschko, possibility of hometown decision ?
Given the pace Wladimir has fought at in his last 2 bouts I highly doubt he'd deserve the decision if it went the distance anyway. Staring at a guy doesn't win you rounds.lazboy wrote:It's an Eddie Hearn production, every time there's a dodgy scorecard and the commentators call it thus, Eddie gets interviewed and says "Yes thats not right, we'll look into it" and nothing is done and he repeats the same line. You're not describing a home town decision. That would be wlad winning 7 clear rounds and losing. I don't expect wlad to be competitive, if that scenario played out they'd be better off not robbing him. It would mean AJ isn't near what most of us thought and they'd be better off cashing in on the rematch. I've heard the loser has that option here.

Lol true but lets just wait and see what happens. There might still be some life in old Wlad. Remember, Joshua's never been past 7. Biggest fight of his life, lot of pressure and nervous energy.

I suspect he won't go past 7 in this one either.lazboy wrote:gilgamesh wrote:Given the pace Wladimir has fought at in his last 2 bouts I highly doubt he'd deserve the decision if it went the distance anyway. The model that is today's boxing is zero losses equals more money. Whether thats true or not today, who knows, but as you know its mainstream right now. Joshua is the favourite, has the money making potential..... If either loser has a rematch option then (if it's a close "controversial" decision) there's got to be a rematch, so it wouldn't matter if Wlad won or not but imo it would matter if Joshua lost. What I'm saying is, if there are rounds that could go either way, the maj will go to Joshua. But of course thats a big IF.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:You're not describing a home town decision. I doubt it will go the distance.
But yes, the judges will favor the UK boxer if it does.

Lol. Joshua is going to wipe out Wlad inside 4.

I am a genuine boxing fan, and I dislike/despise/hate corrupted judges/refs. They are killing my favourite sport, slowly but surely.Enlightened-One wrote:The nature of these threads bores the fúckíng shít out of me!

There are (at least) ten "strange decisions" on the highest level since 2012, I do not intend to list them, every fan knows....
I have a lot of respect for both fighters, Joshua and Klitschko...Simply, I expect the competitive fight and fair judges /ref...
Re: Joshua vs Klitschko, possibility of hometown decision ?
..always a factor to consider in case of a close fight..one of the reasons boxers prefer to fight on home turf..
Re: Joshua vs Klitschko, possibility of hometown decision ?
British judges are amongst the most biased around. Throw in the fact this is a matchroom/Sky Sports show and by far and away their biggest cash cow and you can be sure that if it goes to the judges then AJ is going to get every conceivable advantage going
Some of the decisions our fighters have gotten here against foreigners are utterly embarrassing- we used to criticise the Italians and Germans but for hometown decisions but they ain't got nothing on us these days.

Watch Gavin McDonnell vs Ray Vargas tonight for a super bantamweight alphabet title. British, matchroom fighter absolutely outclassed but the UK judge scores it a drawSupremo wrote:British judges are amongst the most biased around.
