Had the makubu fight gone the distance he wpuld have been given the nod at goodison. He is a limited boxer who has been given everything to him.
Haye has earnt his stripes
He portrays this hard man image but in reality he has had a very favourable career who in my opinion hasn't earnt his stripes the hard way. He has been well matched at cruiser and in the so called 50/50 fight he had it in his dream venue.
He now has to go to hayes heartland, and try to prove that he can go away in a fight that is stacked against him and not go into his shell.
Haye has a heartland?

I would say south london is very much haye heartland.Counter-puncher wrote:nitro5912 wrote:You are correct, my point is that bellew has never had to go away and perform in a big fight. When he has v stevenson he acted the hard man and came out scared to do anything.dannyhalifax wrote:

Bellew has been one of the most competitively matched British fighters in recent years.
He gets far more abuse than he deserves.

When tripe flows from the gums of bellew he deserves stick for it,if he says he will die in the ring then doesnt make an effort ppl will slate him for it,its as simple as thatHorse wrote:Rubbish.nitro5912 wrote:You are correct, my point is that bellew has never had to go away and perform in a big fight. Re: How long will the bellend last ?
I think it's harsh to say Bellew has been easily matched. His opponents have been of decent quality and he has done very well for his ability.
However, he is in way over his head here.
He's jumping up to a weight against an established heavyweight (I don't buy all this talk that Haye is just a pumped up cruiserweight anymore. His body has changed since his comeback and he's now a legitimate heavyweight in my view who could never boil down near the cruiserweight limit), he's giving away huge advantages in terms of power, hand speed, foot speed, reflexes, technical ability and experience, in my view his chin is weaker than Haye's certainly at this weight and he also doesn't have the power to stop Haye either in my book. Haye has shown no real chin vulnerabilities since moving up to heavyweight and Bellew isn't a murderous puncher at cruiser. I give him almost no chance.

Re: How long will the bellend last ?
If Bellew were to fight the likes of Kovalev or Stevenson at cruiser I'd confidently expect both to beat him quite easily so it's almost scary to think what Haye may do to him. I think we'll be looking back at this as a huge mismatch in just over a week's time.

Re: How long will the bellend last ?
It's hard to land cleanly against Haye and the way Bellew will be fighting (cowardly) he's not going to land much. Question is, can he last the distance with another Mckenzie "masterclass"

Syntax Error wrote:It depends on what mood Haye is in.
If he opts to do what he did against Parcel Force Harrison, then my money would be on 3 rounds.
If he pounces on Bellow early, then it's all over in the first.
Either way, it's an early night, because Bellow is sturdy enough to stand up to a Haye onslaught.
Re: How long will the bellend last ?
And even if Bellew landed cleanly, I'm not sure it would win him the fight. I re-watched Haye vs. Chisora last night and Chisora landed a great shot that Haye took really well.TheLeprechaun wrote:It's hard to land cleanly against Haye and the way Bellew will be fighting (cowardly) he's not going to land much. Re: How long will the bellend last ?
In a lot of ways I'm disappointed it's been made. (In others I'm not!)
I've always disliked listening to a lot of crap coming out of Bellew's mouth, but when he stood on the apron and gave Haye a good dressing down for deluding the public with the matchmaking of his comeback, I couldn't have agreed more and thought Bellew was bang on.
Then he goes and sells out himself, taking a grossly overmatched fight just to line his own pockets (and Haye's in the process)..... it's hypocritical. He should have stuck to the 'I'm not a heavyweight' line and I'd have been right behind him.
On the Haye note, he definitely has the tools all round. I think in terms of a skill set he's about an exciting a fighter as you could want, top level speed and power, timing and technique. He had great heart in his CW days, and to be absolutely truthful has never really looked chinny, actually especially when taking shots at HW.
His matchmaking and business strategy is the issue, rather than hunting glory hunting cash. You can't really blame him given the nature of the game, but it's disappointing regarding his attributes.
I don't see anything at all that Bellew does better than Haye, chin included, and that's at CW never mind best part of two stone heavier. I think Haye has no fear at all and big KO R2.

Re: How long will the bellend last ?
Been thinking "why is bellew so confident?" Then it just hit me,does anyone think coldwell has something to do with it? Like he took haye on the pads seen haye sparring etc etc,now he trains bellew and i think he is saying stuff like "you punch well harder than haye" or"you are well fitter than haye,i think you can beat him" so bellend is thinking he can blow haye away. If this is the case then coldwell needs to tell him the truth that haye will dismantle him within 2 rounds,it will take longer to eat a bowl of cornflakes than it will for haye to knock him out

I had a dream last night that Bellew got dropped at the very end of round 2 and didn't come out for round 3. You heard it here first
Re: How long will the bellend last ?
I'm a minority, but i think that Bellew will win the fight. Cruiser is the right class for him, he's a solid fighter, good defense skills, he has all the right staff to make the upset.

Re: How long will the bellend last ?
I've watched a lot of interviews with the people involved and it has been said multiple times that Coldwell never took Haye on the pads. Bellew's confidence, in my opinion, comes from Haye's relative inactivity and his increased age. Coldwell and Bellew are looking at the fact that Haye's last decent opponent was in 2012, which is a really long time ago!thechump wrote:Been thinking "why is bellew so confident?" The only way I see Bellew winning is if he catches Haye with a counter punch as Haye is throwing punches. Most likely a left hook. I think if either guy gets hurt, the fight is over straight away

Belles is very inlikeable , that's why he spins the I love my kids line most people love their kids your suppose to it's nothing new! Personally can't wait for Haye to splatter this big mouth scouser, Haye didn't ask for the fight Haye didn't start with the verbal abuse.
Re: How long will the bellend last ?
I heard something like that aswell, its not a catchweigt as such but haye cant come in over a certain weight,im sure i heard it in a bellend interviewgeronimo wrote:Yes it's true, is at heavyweight. I don't believe Bellew has the power to hurt Haye.
