When does or did Vargas arrive in the UK?
Re: Gavin McDonnell vs. Rey Vargas - February 25th 2017
I know he is here as he was doing a little in the open workout on Tues or Weds but as to when he got here I am not sure to be honest.Autobarn wrote:When does or did Vargas arrive in the UK?

How do you mean? By getting it staged over here?
You make it sound like a gift when McDonnell had beaten Hall already for British, Commonwealth and European titles to move up the rankings and ground out a hard win over Ceja to secure the IBF belt.
Re: Gavin McDonnell vs. Rey Vargas - February 25th 2017
Vargas sure has a spotty back
Re: Gavin McDonnell vs. Rey Vargas - February 25th 2017
Just watched Rey Vargas's last fight.
I think this could potentially be a mismatch and if Gav makes it past round 6 he will have taken A LOT of punishment.
Vargas has quick hands and is very good to the body. His right hand to the body looks particularly good so does his uppercut.
Looking at Munoz his opponent last time. Ex world champion at weights below well travelled looked durable but WAY past his best. But that will be the same standard ( or even better ) than what McDonnell has been in with.

Sky Facebook says the undercard has concluded.
So with that happening, and the broadcast not starting until 8pm, is there anything happening in the arena for the next hour and a half or so? There's only one float listed

Good on him, great result. But the only way is not up, it's likely to be down.... back to being a journeyman paid short notices purses to be beaten up by prospects.Taansend wrote:I'm just chuffed that Willie Warburton got his 4th KO win in his 139th fight. Nope. Next fight is the winner of the Liams & after he wins that one he gets the winner of Brook Spence.boxingknockout wrote:Good on him, great result.
