Well done to Jackson - worthy winner of a decent fight.

Setting up Griffith for extra Defense training didn't really pay off though - maybe clipped his offensive instincts and he still got hit with all kinds of crosses and hooks anyway! Live and learn.

I'm glad you found out that Defensive training isn't that useful. There were a few fights I thought about doing this for my guys, but I was afraid it might prove the least effective of all the specialized training options and due to your experience here my fears were probably correct.

Could just be a bad fit for Griffith - a great, great fighter but not the most cerebral or sweet stylist out there. Stamina seemed to help him more last week at least. Hard to say with such little data though I suppose.

In fairness, it does seem like a good idea - you can't be faulted for that. Jackson's power is well-known and you tried to find a way around it, no shame in that.
