Its looking like Lazcano!?!
Its looking like Lazcano!?!
Although Lazcano is still down here as fighting Torres, he is also now down as Ricky Hatton's opponent for Foxwoods in May.
Thoughts? Do you think it is on.
Think the risk/reward for this fight isn't good for Hatton. Lazcano can punch a bit and has a good chin. He could provide some problems, with little reward for Ricky.

it will provide a valuable measuring stick to compare how ricky does against a guy potential future rival jose luis castillo wore down & stopped in late rounds!!! that's about it for upside...he's a lightweight, but a good one!!!stujones wrote:Although Lazcano is still down here as fighting Torres, he is also now down as Ricky Hatton's opponent for Foxwoods in May.

Please god no. Just throw the IBF belt in the bin, move up in weight, anything. Just let Rabah fornicate off. Lazcano I don't mind too much. Should be a better opponent, but could be worse. Needs to be a big one after that though. Which Rabah isn't, by any stretch of the imagination.Hardhitters11 wrote:Am being told its Lazcano then Rabah...Great.

I thought when Hatton left Warren he was paving a deal with Golden Boy Promotions, when he signed with Fight Academy I knew the big fights wouldn't be made. If his next 2 fights are Lazcano and Rabah, we wont see him fighting any 'proper' world class opposition until probably next summer. The weight that he puts on between bouts will garuntee that!

Just my opinion, which doesn't mean it's true. I'm sure everyone on this forum will try their utmost to make sure you are not right.lirva33 wrote:Seems like LIRVA was right all along.Neri1983 wrote:Never thought I would say this, but i'm starting to think it wasn't Warren after all.
All those times we got given the likes of Smith & Vilches, we blamed Warren.
Warren does actually seem to be trying to get his fighters the big ones.

Where are those Hatton fans now?
Where is my apology?
LAZCANO??
RABAH??
GATTI??
MAUSSA??
"I need two more fights before I fight FLOYD"
when Hatton was with Warren it was "all warrens fault". Now that he is not with Warren is it "all Ray Hattons fault?"???? It's never Hattons fault is it?
The supposed MAN of the division is fighting a 135 POUNDER! And then A SHIT fighter who LOST to FREDERICK KINUTHIA?!!
This will take him about a year. It will be about a year before he has another fight. THEN it will be a GATTI type opponent.
Hatton is a JOKE.
Meanwhile FLOYD (a former 130 POUNDER) has moved UP to 147 to challenge JUDAH (a harder fight than Lazcano/Rabah and Gatti put together) and then is looking for DLH at 154.
And yet, it's ok to criticise this man and NOT Hatton????
Do you really think Hatton would have fought Harris if he had of blown Maussa out? NO, HE WOULD HAVE FOUGHT MAUSSA!!!
Ricky Hatton, thank you for proving me right. Thank you for proving that you are only after the money. Thank you for proving that you are SCARED to fight a SLICK fighter.
Thank you for proving you are a cowardly fu*k!

Ray Hatton doent seem to be interested in what you or any of the fans think. He wants the most money for low risk fights.Mattyp151 wrote:Exactly what gets me....why sit there and trash Warren, when at least he got you Tszyu at home. What has Ray done for you so far?jamesmcdonnell wrote:After all this talk of how Warren held him back for years too, hilarious.
4 million for fighting Luzcano seems to fit his criteria.

Thing is, Hatton could make even more money if he fought so meone who was seen as a genuine threat, but then of course the reward would be high, but so would the risk be. Not what Ray Hatton wants I dare say.
Where did you get the figure of 4 million from? Is Hatton really that big a star that he gets 4 million to fight someone like Lazcano? What's the most PPV buys he's had, and how much are foxwoods paying to host the fight?
Thing is, Foxwoods is in the middle of fornicating nowhere, so are people really going to flock there just to see Hatton fight?
Lazcano will be getting paid bollock all to make this fight work, which is I guess why we have his name in the first place. A guy who is prepared to take the thin cut for the chance to gatecrash the boxing elite.

Hatton is getting 4 million. Foxwoods are paying a mil or so, with Sky and HBO paying a few mil eachjamesmcdonnell wrote:Thing is, Hatton could make even more money if he fought so meone who was seen as a genuine threat, but then of course the reward would be high, but so would the risk be. Foxwoods is only an hour from Rhode Island so its not too far out. All they need a a couple of high rollers to get their stake back.
It's a 5000 seat arena, and tickets will probably be in the 75, 150, 300 type area, meaning if they average 200 bucks a ticket, there's their million back.KO Artist wrote:Hatton is getting 4 million. Trust me, I'm 2 hours away from Foxwoods, it's in the middle of nowhere, and Rhode Island can be driven through, N to S, in less than an hour.
