Although Lazcano is still down here as fighting Torres, he is also now down as Ricky Hatton's opponent for Foxwoods in May.

Thoughts? Do you think it is on.

Think the risk/reward for this fight isn't good for Hatton. Lazcano can punch a bit and has a good chin. He could provide some problems, with little reward for Ricky.

it will provide a valuable measuring stick to compare how ricky does against a guy potential future rival jose luis castillo wore down & stopped in late rounds!!! that's about it for upside...he's a lightweight, but a good one!!!

Please god no. Just throw the IBF belt in the bin, move up in weight, anything. Just let Rabah fornicate off. Lazcano I don't mind too much. Should be a better opponent, but could be worse. Needs to be a big one after that though. Which Rabah isn't, by any stretch of the imagination.

If he fought them both in the space of 3months and then fought a bigger fight 3-4months later it would be fine. but this will eat up his prime - which he has said won't last long

Lazcano is new to the weight and couldn't cope with Castillo a few years back so won't be able to keep Hatton off him & then Rabah thats dreadful.

I thought when Hatton left Warren he was paving a deal with Golden Boy Promotions, when he signed with Fight Academy I knew the big fights wouldn't be made. If his next 2 fights are Lazcano and Rabah, we wont see him fighting any 'proper' world class opposition until probably next summer. The weight that he puts on between bouts will garuntee that!

lascano is better than rabah, but it's still a poor choice but their arent many big fighters available for this fight.

Never thought I would say this, but i'm starting to think it wasn't Warren after all.

All those times we got given the likes of Smith & Vilches, we blamed Warren.

Warren does actually seem to be trying to get his fighters the big ones.

Where did you get the figure of 4 million from? Is Hatton really that big a star that he gets 4 million to fight someone like Lazcano? What's the most PPV buys he's had, and how much are foxwoods paying to host the fight?

Thing is, Foxwoods is in the middle of fornicating nowhere, so are people really going to flock there just to see Hatton fight?

Lazcano will be getting paid bollock all to make this fight work, which is I guess why we have his name in the first place. A guy who is prepared to take the thin cut for the chance to gatecrash the boxing elite.

It's a 5000 seat arena, and tickets will probably be in the 75, 150, 300 type area, meaning if they average 200 bucks a ticket, there's their million back.

Trust me, I'm 2 hours away from Foxwoods, it's in the middle of nowhere, and Rhode Island can be driven through, N to S, in less than an hour.
