Now please...please...PLEASE can we see Wilder in against a live body? Consider it a 39th fight gift for the fans
Re: Wilder-Washington and Ugonoh-Breazeale
I want to see a replay of the stoppage but they keep showing the knockdown. I saw a lot of punches missing, thought Washington could survive it.

I think most of the shots missed, but Washington didn't know how to recover. The stoppage seemed good to me, especially given the lack of protest for Gerald.lazboy wrote:I want to see a replay of the stoppage but they keep showing the knockdown. Yea fair enough, he just seems a bit protected to me. plus one of the judges had him ahead.punchoutsb wrote:I think most of the shots missed, but Washington didn't know how to recover. Whatever the relative skill levels..........that was an enjoyable three fight night.
Re: Wilder-Washington and Ugonoh-Breazeale
Anyone know the judges score cards? I had Washington 4-0.
Re: Wilder-Washington and Ugonoh-Breazeale
The commentator said 2 judges had it even and one had Wilder ahead.Exoddus wrote:Anyone know the judges score cards? I had Washington 4-0.
Re: Wilder-Washington and Ugonoh-Breazeale
How is that even possible? How can you win rounds without landing anything?lazboy wrote:The commentator said 2 judges had it even and one had Wilder ahead.Exoddus wrote:Anyone know the judges score cards? I had Washington 4-0.

Re: Wilder-Washington and Ugonoh-Breazeale
No, Wilder wasn't very impressive tonight, but he was coming off of two serious injuries to his right arm/hand & a long layoff against a big, strong awkward guy with a good jab. So, I give him a B grade for tonight. He showed again that despite all else, his right hand is a great equalizer.
Sure, right now I'd favor Joshua over him, but we don't know anything about Joshua's chin yet. And he has yet to show how he'll respond to real adversity.
As for Wilder's lack of competition, it sounds like he & his people are legitimately going after Joseph Parker should he get past Fury in a month or two. After which, should he beat Parker I'm sure they'll look to unify vs the Joshua/Klitschko winner.

Re: Wilder-Washington and Ugonoh-Breazeale
The writing was on the wall after that right hand & Washington didn't complain at the stoppage. He didn't want any more.
Sure, the ref could have waited for a couple more shots to land or another knockdown to occur, but it wasn't necessary. Wilder found the range & the fight was over.

Re: Wilder-Washington and Ugonoh-Breazeale
The referee was definitely eager to stop the fight, but I think Washington was shook up pretty badly and probably would've been stopped anyway. I think he had done well enough up to that point to be given more of a chance to survive though.

PBC is delivering good cards these days. Breazeale is highly unskilled but damn that motherfucker has heart. Sadly, I on;ly saw the first two rounds of the main event because I forgot to extend my DVR. Harrison is really skilled but he has stamina and chin issues. Hurd is fortunate that Charlo moved up.
PS. War Wilder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

F'g boxing that's why I almost fall over backwards when I hear boxing judges render an honest decision.

Re: Wilder-Washington and Ugonoh-Breazeale
I wouldn't pick Wilder to beat Ortiz or Joshua or Fury. I think Ortiz and AJ would KO him and Fury would outjab and hug him to death. Klit will be retired soon.
However. Wilder has fight ending power. So no matter how much I think these other guys may be better than he is - he can hurt you, very badly, with one punch. And that throws any sort of analysis to sh*t.
