Pacquiao vs. Khan on April 23: Fighters Announce Deal is Reached

Jeff Horn is no longer in the picture as both Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan announced on social media that a deal was reached for a showdown on April 23rd. The location of the contest has not been revealed.

"Negotiations between team Pacquiao and team Khan have come to terms for the April 23 bout as this is what the fans wanted," Pacquiao wrote on Twitter.

"My team and I have agreed terms with Manny Pacquiao and his team for a super fight," Khan wrote right to his own social media followers.

Superfight is a bit of a stretch, but an interesting matchup none the less.

Horn should take some encouragement he was even considered.

Plenty of spin surrounding Horn at the moment.

He should fight and beat someone decent and earn his shot.

Jeff's not doing himself any favours with this stunt.

Superfight continues to be one of the most overused terms in the sport.

Horn will be disappointed missing out after Arum seemed so definite he had the fight. But the upside is, as a result of all the publicity, people who didn't know who Horn was, now do.

So Pacquiao-Khan is still not a done deal according to Arum.

I noticed Smithy and Katsidis see dollar signs when it comes to Jeff Horn. He said Horn needs an opponent so after he finishes with Josh King, he could fight Horn.

With all due respect to what Katsidis achieved earlier in his career, he is heading south even quicker than Horn is heading north and if they fought now Horn would embarrass him.

Well apparently he hasn't got brain damage or he wouldn't be licensed to fight.

Arum on the UAE fight:

"After I met with Koncz I realized everything was up in the air as far as the money [in the UAE]. They punted to me and said, 'Go find the money.' So far it hasn't surfaced," said Arum.

"This could all go away like the breeze. If you can find the money, if you can find that $38 million, I'll give you 10%, make it 20%. The point is a lot of these deals take time to put together, to find money and everything. We're not there."
